I recently spent three nights at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Greensboro, NC, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Upon check-in, I was assigned a room with a non-functional air conditioning unit,during a time when outside temperatures were in the mid-90s. The room was uncomfortably warm and stuffy.
When I approached the front desk to request a room change, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that they were already aware of issues with the A/C units in several rooms. I was told that maintenance typically resets the units, but no maintenance personnel ever followed up. I also inquired about the hotel’s cancellation policy but was told the general manager would need to address it,yet no one ever contacted me with a response.
Later that evening, I asked for a fan to help cool the room. One of the front desk clerks suggested I take a fan from another area, as the one they were using kept them comfortable in the already air-conditioned lobby. The fan that was eventually provided made little difference, and the room remained warm and uncomfortable.
It wasn’t until the morning of the third day,after I returned to the front desk,that I was finally given a new room with working air conditioning. Had I not followed up in person, I doubt any resolution would have been offered.
