For the first three days in the property, our vacation was made very difficult because of the smell of damp, which was so bad that my wife wanted to leave and stay somewhere else on our first day of being in the property. It spoiled the beginning of our holiday.
The fact that the property had not been opened and that it was damp inside for a long time meant that, even though we had all the windows open, candles and air fresheners, and that we left the property for a long time during the days to let it air out, it was still a terrible smell of damp and very upsetting. This is not what you want to be encountering on the first days of a vacation that you’ve been waiting for and looking forward to for three months. It made the kitchen unbearable so we did not cook for those days. If this were my property I would feel bad to put the people renting from me in this position and I would offer some kind of compensation to offset the distaste, inconvenience and disappointment which spoiled the first 3 days of our holiday. This did not happen even after I bought up the point to the owners after the holiday.
In retrospect, all this property needed was for the owners to open the doors a week ahead and to check the interior to make sure
