The hotel is beautiful but the policies really undermine having an experience that aligns with the cost of staying there.
There was no one to help unload my car so I grabbed a luggage trolley that was available in the car drop off space. There were at least 10 lined up. After I unloaded my car and got halfway in the hotel a worker told me the trolley “wasn’t for me”. Those trolleys were only for guests “who want help unloading.” I had to unload my luggage onto another trolley and was told to be sure to return the trolley to the front desk when I was done. I was never asked if I needed or wanted help.
At checkout, my daughter called and asked someone to bring a trolley to our room and we were told to come and get it ourselves. I don’t fault the workers, these seem to be hotel policies. But this is not the experience I’d expect when we paid over $500 to stay at the hotel per night.
The hotel had one small “restaurant” (the size of a small Starbucks) offering breakfast. This is a huge hotel, so obviously the line for breakfast was about 25+ people deep.
The Amway does not seem concerned with guest experience- despite the high cost of staying there. We went to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We won’t be staying there again. Next time I’ll try to JW Marriott across the street.
