Sandy Hill was the perfect vacation spot for our family of 12 - ages 11-76. The house was wonderful and the beach, by far, the prettiest we’ve ever seen. We all enjoyed the kayaks, the pool, the snorkeling and the view. Tippy’s, with great Bahamian food and music, was our favorite dining spot and only a few minutes walk from the house. Captain Clayton with Capt. Kid and Sons provided memories of a lifetime when we swam with the pigs, snorkeled over an old ship ruin, took pictures on an amazingly huge sandbar, found red starfish and more. Brenda and Patrick Demeritte were our in-house chefs one night for a big birthday celebration and fried up, among other things, the best conch fritters on the island. Their son, Andrew Demeritte, was our guide to feed/swim with the fish at Rock Sound, the Boiling Hole Cave and Lighthouse Beach. Jeremy, with Cadet Rental Cars, was the first to greet us at the airport and the last to say goodbye - with a hug - on what we all agree was an epic vacation! Thank you Matt Simon and Denise Wilkes for making it all possible.
One word of advice - bring food from home, especially meat and snacks. Our three families each packed one of our allowed suitcases with snacks and frozen meat. You will not regret doing the same.
