Gather with your favorite people perched over a cliffside on Lake Glenville, the highest elevation large lake in the Eastern United States, at Eagles Landing. Located in Glenville, NC a short 10-minute drive from popular destinations like, Cashiers and Highlands. For a few dollars a day, as our guest, you have access to all of Sapphire Valley Resort's amenities. Good WiFi throughout the property allows for smooth remote learning and work during your special getaway. Whether you share the space with your immediate family or invite your extended-family and friends, a mountain vacation is a must-do. Check out all your stay includes:

This family-friendly home makes for the perfect home away from home for your yearly family gatherings and holiday celebrations. The large home sleeps 15 and is fully equipped to house multi-generations. + plethora of amenities available, nearby boat rentals that offer waterfall tours, fantastic waterfall hikes with beach 5 minutes away, boat launch, and membership level access to Sapphire Valley Resort (indoor pool, sauna, skiing, mini-golf, etc..).

Eagles Landing is nestled in Tator Knob Estates on Lake Glenville. 1h 20m drive from Asheville airport. 4 miles from Cashiers.

Park your car and leave your worries behind as you walk to the wrap around porch with breathtaking 180-degree views of Lake Glenville and the cliffside below.

As you enter Eagles Landing, lakefront views greet you from all the windows in the living and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped for your home chef with brand new LG Signature stainless steel appliances, William Sonoma kitchen utensils, and large pantry space. The living room space contains an L shaped leather recliner couch and 2 leather chairs facing the 75-inch flat-screen t.v. placed above the gas fireplace, ready for you to rest your feet, warm up to a gas-lit fire, and enjoy your favorite feel-good movie.

The oversized porch captures a breathtaking view of Lake Glenville and overlooks the surrounding mountain range. Sit in one of the rocking chairs, benches, or swing, breathe in the mountain air, and keep watch for a bald eagle and other wildlife we share the land with. It makes for the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, eat al fresco on the outdoor dining table fit for 10, and fire up the extra large gas grill for a BBQ. For an indoor dinner, we offer our reclaimed wood dining room table set for 10.

The first floor also includes a one-bedroom suite with two single beds and a wheelchair accessible bathroom. Stairs lead up to the second floor where you can find the home office space, laundry, and 3 bedroom suites (Lake View Suite, Honeymoon Suite, and Junior Suite). The first two with king beds and expansive lake views both have upscale touches. The Junior Suite includes a queen bed with a twin-size pull out sofa bed, lake views, and high quality art work.

A second set of stairs takes you up to the third floor area, which we call The Nest. Perfect for children or singles to sleep equipped with four twin beds and a queen-size sleeper-sofa. A large bathroom is located on this level along with a kitchenette, microwave, gaming table, lounge area, and smart t.v. for an easy game set up.

*As our guest, you also have full amenity privileges to the Sapphire Valley Resort which is only a short 10-minute drive from our home. Amenities include golf, tennis, children's playground, recreational fields, indoor heated pool, hot tubs, sauna, fitness center, workout room, massage therapies, movie rentals walking trails, zip-lining, mini-golf, arcade room, pickleball, Fairfield Lake boat, and beach access and other local seasonal events. During the winter months, guests may also receive 25% off the public ski rate.

We are committed to providing great stays for our guests. Upon reservation, you will receive a house manual that will provide you with everything you need to know before, during, and after your trip. We value excellent communication and will be available at all times to answer your questions.

This home is amazing and can easily accommodate a large family gathering. Comfort, comfort, comfort! We could not get the pilot light lit in the inside fireplace but were able to have a fire in the outdoor fire ring on the deck. At one point we had 9 cars in the driveway with no trouble at all but we did have to jockey them around a bit. Everyone enjoyed the home, the views, the location, etc. The owner was extremely kind and helpful. The kitchen is stocked with any gadget or small appliance you could ever need except a cheese grater. Better than any luxury hotel sans the room service, of course. Enjoy your stay!

This was an amazing place! Everything about it exceeded our expectations - very well stocked kitchen and pantry. The teenagers loved having their own space almost as much as they loved the huge porch - with amazing views of the lake.Irma was extremely helpful with suggestions of activities for all ages, from the best playground I've ever seen (Village Green) to the whitewater rafting for the more adventurous.The location was perfect - very near the Marina (book your boat early!) and Happs was just right for a big crowd to celebrate a big birthday.

We had an incredible stay at this property! The views are absolutely stunning and instantly put you at ease. The house is beautifully equipped with everything you could need—and more. It’s spacious, family-friendly, and the check-in/check-out process was smooth and stress-free.We experienced one brief power outage, but the generator kicked in immediately, and repair crews were quick to respond—no inconvenience at all.The drive up is steep and narrow in places, which may feel a bit daunting, but GPS directions were accurate and helpful.A few small notes for future guests: One toilet didn’t flush properly, which stressed out a guest with a phobia, though a plunger resolved a similar issue in another bathroom. The outdoor seating includes a lovely conversational area with gliders and a large dining table for 10, but we wished there were a few lounge chairs like Adirondacks for relaxing on the deck. The third floor is a great space but could benefit from a ping pong or pool table to engage younger guests.The kitchen is compact for the size of the home, but it’s well-stocked with high-end tools—great if you choose to cook.Overall, this home is a peaceful, luxurious retreat. We loved our stay and would absolutely return!

We recently stayed at this fantastic Vrbo property for our sons wedding and it exceeded our expectations! The views are absolutely breathtaking, providing a stunning backdrop for our stay. The house is spacious and comfortable, making it perfect for our extended family to come together and enjoy quality time. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything we needed, allowing us to prepare a few meals easily. Magical Sunsets

We had an incredible stay at this property. The view from the porch is stunning at all times of day but was completely magical at sunset. The house was well equipped with everything we could need; well stocked in the kitchen for family meals and every comfort for a relaxing holiday. The bedrooms were all very comfortable, and our kids had a blast in their “private quarters” in the attic playroom. We have been to other homes on Lake Glenville and this may be our favorite one. The location is great - just over 10 minutes to Cashiers, 5 minutes to the marina and about 25 minutes to Highlands. I like other locations on the lake, it avoids some of the never ending winding roads, so the trip to Cashiers is a breeze. Definitely recommend and hope to return! Thank you again!

Scenic Mountain Getaway

This beautiful mountain home exceeded our expectations, comfortably accommodating a family of 12 with spacious bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, large greatroom, well equipped kitchen, and a memorable deck with outdoor dining overlooking breathtaking panoramic vistas of Lake Glenville. Because the home is perched on the side of a mountain, it does require a steep vehicle ascent but this is readily mastered after your first trip. Don’t let this deter you! The children’s room with 4 twin beds was perfect for 4 of the 6 grandchildren with game table, entertainment area and kitchenette. The house is spotless and our hostess Irma, was most helpful. The beds are very comfortable, as is the furniture ensuring a relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this home as your mountain getaway. It will not disappoint! Bettina

Immaculate! Spectacular! And oh so comfortable!

Four brothers and wives (8 adults) spent six nights in this spectacular home! My sister-in-law, a certifiable 'clean fanatic' was entirely impressed with the spotless condition and attention to detail. The location, above Lake Glenville, has incredible views of the lake, and surrounding mountains. Mountain roads in the local and surrounding areas. Elevation, ~3500 feet, was cool throughout the day. The open porch overlooking the lake and mountains was our favorite spot for morning coffee and some great conversation before breakfast....which seemed to be later and later each day! We are a big cooking family and prepared most of our meals in-house with a great kitchen, large, and had every kitchen implement imaginable. The appliances were modern and in great condition. Everything worked! Plenty of room for groceries in the refrigerator, dry goods in the pantry, and plenty of counter space. We had 8 in our party, but could easily handle 10 at the dining table. Beds were so comfortable! The location was convenient to a great grocery, Ingles, in Cashiers, just beyond the Cashiers' Farmer's Market. Recreation was easily accessible. Signal Ridge Marine was convenient and had pontoon boats for rental. we had a great 3 hour rental on the lake, saw 3-4 waterfalls, and enjoyed imagining ourselves in one of the many beautiful mountain homes surrounding the lake. Many great hiking trails around too! Simply stated, we loved it and look forward to a return trip!

Views for miles

House was spacious and comfortable for a group of 12. The views were spectacular from almost every room in the house. If the weather was a little warmer, we would have used the deck a lot more than we did. The deck is very spacious with lots of seating. The fire pit was a genius idea for being able to burn on a deck. Outdoor kitchen was also very nice. The third floor was great for the kids. It was very spacious for the kids to play and had four twin beds. Overall it was a beautiful property.

The Perfect Summer Getaway

We had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to make this summertime getaway a tradition! The house was perfect for our group, which consisted of three different families, all with young children. Georgous property and home!

This is an increddibly beautiful property high overlooking Lake Glenville! The hosts are gracious and very helpful. Our family of 10 stayed for a week and absolutely loved it. The home is beautifully done with high end appliances and finishes. The views are just awesome. We spent a lot of time in the evenings on the enormous deck enjoying the sunsets. Beautiful Home - Awesome Lake Views

Our entire family including grandkids stayed in this beautiful home for a wedding in Glenville. The house is beautifully decorated and has high-end appliances. Plenty of room for all to dine, relax, sleep, etc. Very large deck with generous seating for all. Wonderful BBQ grill with large table for group dining. Views of the lake from the deck were just awesome. The owner, Irma, was very responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend staying in this beautiful home for your stay in this area.

Absolutely amazing - best VRBO we have visited

This property is by far the nicest VRBO home our family has stayed in. We’ve traveled to NC a few times and stayed in various homes in Asheville and Highlands but all pale in comparison to this. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The living/dining room and the porch were all wonderful spots to relax and enjoy the sweeping views. The home was clean, nicely decorated and very well appointed. The window treatments and bedding in the bedrooms ensured we were able to sleep very comfortably. The beds, linens, and kitchenwares are nicer than any other rental our family has visited. It’s clear the owner of the home takes pride in creating a truly unique, luxurious travel experience for their guests.

Wonderful Trip!

We had a wonderful week long vacation in Irma’s home! The pictures do a great job portraying the home. The porch and view are a definite highlight. Irma was so helpful and quick to communicate. We had a great time as a family here (kids ages 2, 5, 8). The porch is enclosed and safe for kids. 3 helpful hints: Irma wisely included info on local medical information in the welcome book. We had a child need to see a doctor and there is a wonderful hospital 25 minutes away. If you need a crib (Irma graciously offered a pack n play but we needed something larger), you can rent one from S’more Kids Klothes in Highlands. Lastly, if you’d like to rent a boat, you can do so very easily from the marina 5 minutes away from the home. They were very easy to work with. Yes, the drive up to the home is very steep and winding, but we definitely got use to it as the week went on. We made sure to be home by 9am (in the summer, it stays light until then); otherwise, it would of made me nervous. We had a wonderful trip and absolutely would recommend this home!

A perfect family getaway

This home was the perfect place for our family and good friend who joined us. The main floor welcomed us with an open floor plan. We spent time cuddled on the couch with warm blankets and soft pillows. Kitchen had all the best appliances and tools (a few that I've put on my Christmas list!). The huge dining room table provided room for our group to sit comfortably and enjoy meals together. When we wanted to do our own thing, there was room for each of us to have our own spot. The huge porch was partially covered and partially open. We enjoyed the porch chairs, rockers and a porch swing. One night, we sat outside to count stars and point out planets and constellations. The upstairs room with 4 twin beds was the cutest spot for the kids to sleep and hang out. The 2nd floor had 3 full suites for us to pick from. Each one was beautifully decorated with high quality sheets, comfortable pillows, places to sit and clean, contemporary bathrooms. We felt very safe on the property as it was part of a neighborhood. The only thing was that to get to the house required steep, curving, mountain roads! It was much easier during the daylight and by the end, we were much more comfortable with the roads. Overall, we had a wonderful trip and this house gave us a feeling of home by providing a comfortable, safe place to land each evening.

Glorious lake views, gracious hosts, and gargantuan home perfect for gathering with my family!

This was the perfect getaway place to have all my favorite people under one roof comfortably. Irma was a wonderful host. Irma answered all of our questions in adequate time which helped ensure that our mini family reunion went smoothly. Before we arrived we were sent a house manual that further helped us get acquainted with the property and surrounding area. Once we got there we found even more detailed information inside the lodge’s compendium about the home. The moment we stepped in and took in the incredible view from the lodge’s living room we were swept away. Walking out onto the gigantic balcony I was met with fresh mountain air and a Cliffside-overlook on Lake Glenville like I’ve never seen before. Irma has arranged the balcony to be a comfortable living area to gather beautifully. It is fully equipped with plenty of seating, rocking chairs, a bench swing set, a table for 10, and the biggest outdoor grill I’ve ever seen. It was truly a great place to entertain my family. Our family member, who is a chef, was pleased by how well stocked the kitchen was with high end brandname pots and pans. The spectacular lake and mountain view’s from each bedroom suite reminded us that we were on vacation every time we walked in our rooms. Our family appreciated the privacy each suite provided with each room having its own private bathroom and sitting area. The children really enjoyed the top floor bedroom suite called ‘the nest’, which has four twin size beds and a kitchenette. They felt it was their own separate pad for our time there equipped with a flat screen tv, video games, table for four, plenty of windows with views of the lake, and multiple window seating perfect for reading a book with a view. We all look forward to returning to the Bald Eagle Lodge to spend quality time with our friends and family. The hosts were amazing and the views of the lake and mountain sunsets are unforgettable.
