🏡 The Space
The bungalow sits within the Jordan Complex, a small residential building in the heart of Gharb, and it feels nothing like a holiday rental — it feels like someone`s well-loved home that happens to have everything you need.
🛏️ Bedroom & Bathroom
The bedroom is dressed with a king-size bed, blackout curtains, and its own ensuite bathroom. It`s designed as a couple`s retreat, and it delivers on that completely. The bungalow is larger than most guests expect though — once you step through the door, you`ll find a space that feels every bit as generous and welcoming as Gozo itself.
🍳 Kitchen
There`s a full oven and cooking hub, a dishwasher, a fridge-freezer, Espresso machine, a microwave, and all the pots, pans, and utensils you`d want for a real cook-up. A dining area inside handles any evening the weather doesn`t cooperate.
🛋️ Living Room & Terrace
The living room has a large smart TV, a comfortable sofa, and AC — though once you step onto the private terrace, you may not come back in until well after midnight. The terrace has a gas BBQ 🔥, a full outdoor dining set, and deck chairs built for long evenings with wine and good company. 🍷
🏊 Pool
The communal pool is accessible within the building — just two floors down to the basement terrace via the stairs. It`s a short trip from your front door, and well worth it on a hot afternoon. ☀️
✅ The Essentials
Free street parking directly outside, free Wi-Fi throughout, and air conditioning in all rooms. Everything works.
24/7 Access to all the amenities of the apartment.
📩 Before You Arrive: We’ll send you a detailed digital guide with step-by-step check-in instructions, directions, and local tips a few days prior to your stay.
🏘️ The Village
Gharb is the kind of place Gozo visitors dream about finding. It`s a small, slow, genuinely Gozitan village in the northwest of the island — no chain restaurants, no beach bars, no tourist strip. Just limestone farmhouses, an 18th-century baroque church, neighbours who wave at you, and more stars visible at night than most people have seen in years. ✨
🎑 Local Landmarks
The village is home to the Ta` Pinu National Shrine, one of the most important religious sites in Malta and Gozo, and a genuinely beautiful building worth a visit even if you`re not religious. The Gharb Folklore Museum, housed in a traditional Gozitan house just off the main square, gives a fascinating window into island life before tourism arrived. 🏛️
🌊 Nature & The Coast
Five minutes by car takes you to Dwejra, one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the entire Mediterranean. The Inland Sea — a sheltered lagoon connected to the open water by a natural cave — is perfect for a swim or a boat trip. 🚣 The Blue Hole next door is considered one of the top ten dive sites in Europe, and non-divers can snorkel it just as happily. 🤿
🛒 Everyday Essentials
The nearest village, San Lawrenz, is a two-minute drive and has a small supermarket for daily essentials. Victoria, the capital of Gozo, is roughly ten minutes away — you`ll find the Citadel there, a walled hilltop fortress with panoramic views across the whole island , as well as the main market, pharmacies, banks, and the best selection of restaurants on the island. 🍽️
😌 The Pace
Gharb itself has a couple of local restaurants. The pace is unhurried. You`ll want to stay longer than you planned.
🚗 Getting Around
Gozo is a small island — about 14km from one end to the other — so getting around is genuinely straightforward, but a hire car makes a real difference. From the bungalow, most of the island`s highlights are within a ten to fifteen minute drive. We`d recommend picking up a car before you arrive on the island rather than arranging one at the port.
✈️ Getting to Gozo
You fly into Malta International Airport in Luqa, then drive or take a taxi north to Cirkewwa (about 45 minutes). The Gozo Channel ferry runs 24 hours a day, year-round, and crosses in 25 minutes. ⛴️ There`s no need to book for foot passengers or cars — just turn up and board the next sailing. The ferry lands at Mġarr on the Gozo side, and from there it`s roughly fifteen minutes to Gharb.
🚌 Getting Around Gozo
Buses run from Victoria to most villages including Gharb. The service is reliable but infrequent — typically one bus per hour — so it works for a day trip into town but isn`t ideal for spontaneous plans. For maximum freedom, hire a car. 🛵 Scooter and quad bike hire is also popular and widely available.
