"My stay at the Shakespeare was short but will be remembered as a really good experience. I felt like a truly valued customer, everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The room was good and the bed was huge!! It was 2 lovely nights sleep, nice hot shower in the morning followed by a cooked breakfast. It really set me up for the day.
I would most certainly revisit and can recommend it for a good place to stay in Kendal."

We got our drinks at the bar and confirmed our stay and we had a lovely evening meal.
The room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and bath.It was very quiet.Breakfast in the morning was great and heather made us feel so at home.

"Beautifully situated and comfortable traditional farmhouse accommodation. Michelle is an excellent host, nothing too much trouble, and with amazing breakfasts. It was so convenient to be able to walk directly from the door, with the Pennine Way literally on the doorstep. Would highly recommend as a base to explore Malham and the beautiful Yorkshire dales. "

"5 stars are not enough for the George and Dragon - the absolute best care and hospitality can be found here! Such a gem in a beautiful village with so much history. All the staff were so kind and accommodating, and the food was delicious and generous portions. Only place open for dinner in the evening so be sure to reserve! Highly highly recommend. "

"First time staying at this lovely 16th century hotel in beautiful Burnsall. Everything about my visit went well, my room was lovely, clean and comfortable. As a sole older woman traveller, some hotels are less accepting of the fact I'm by myself but the staff here were kind and friendly and it makes a huge difference. I will definitely go back. "

"Lovely friendly staff during our stay. Nice pool facilities, didn't use the gym but it looked well stocked. Food was nice, especially the breakfast and nothing was too much to organise for us. Garage parking was easy to locate and property is near to shopping areas and more pubs and restaurants. Would stay again."

"We had a lovely relaxing stay. The food was some of the best we have ever had in a pub, we can really recommend the Pie with the suet pastry my wife had it both nights it was so good. Breakfast was great as well. Thanks for a great stay, we would love to come back. "

Unfortunately their restaurant wasn’t open as it was a week day but their recommendation of Bangkok 7 Thai restaurant was spot on and a “Must go” place to eat- it was superb!"
