Let us know if there's a special occasion or celebration, as we are here to serve and wish to make your experience even more memorable
1) We provide complimentary trash pickup for all guests, regardless of how long your stay is with us. We do this in order to serve our guests, and we want to prevent attracting wildlife to the smell of overflowing garbage cans. Simply message us on the booking platform requesting this service at any point during your stay, and we will have a trusted member of our team come out and empty the trash from the bear-proof containers.
2) A guest agreement must be electronically signed by the booker after the stay is confirmed. The guest cancellation policy is as per the platform on which your stay was confirmed at the time of booking. When canceling your reservation, a processing fee of 3% or $65.00, whichever is greater than the total amount of the booking, including all taxes and platform fees paid, will be charged due to all payments being handled by a third-party payment processor. This is only because we are covering fees from both sides of the booking transaction.
3) Our family cabin does not allow pets at this time, and currently cannot accommodate early check-ins. Please note that the roads in the mountains are typically narrower than your average rural road. We also kindly ask that no parties be on the premises. The cabin features a staircase that leads to the water's edge, allowing easy access to the kayaks from the rack for quick launching.
4) WE ENCOURAGE GUESTS TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE THAT IS DESIGNED TO PROTECT AGAINST LOSSES DUE TO SUDDEN TRAVEL CHANGES. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTS OF GOD OR UNFAVORABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS.
5) Like many in the area, the cabin is on well water. The water has been tested and meets U.S. EPA guidelines. We have taken extra measures to ensure an even higher level of water quality by installing an ultraviolet Triton water treatment system with a PENTEK filter, including a backwashing system. If you still have concerns, please bring bottled water.
6) Please be aware that bears and their cubs are occasionally seen near the cabin, as it is located near a large water source & the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Even though bears may appear gentle, it's important to remember that they are still wild animals. Please avoid touching or approaching them. Even if they seem hungry, do not feed wild animals or leave food or trash in your car. Always keep your vehicle locked, as bears have been known to open unlocked doors.
7) Due to the high usage of charcoal at this time, we aren't able to provide or guarantee that it will be available for your use on the grill, as unfortunately, bags of charcoal tend to last only one to two guests, making it too cost-prohibitive for us to provide it for every guest. You can use the INSTACART app, available on both Android and Apple app stores to have household items delivered to the cabin that are specific to your needs.
