  • VELKOMMEN TIL GALVESTON :) Vila Cottage er et nybygget hjem, kun 5 minutters gang til havmuren og en af de bedste strande Galveston. Det ligger i et meget pænt kvarter ved siden af Galveston College. Hjemmet er omgivet af mange berømte restauranter, barer, sightseeing med seværdigheder og mere. Du behøver ikke at køre, du kan gå overalt !!! Du vil være meget tæt på Pleasure Pier og The Strand. Når du kommer ind i hytten, vil du straks føle dig hjemme og afslappet. Hvis du leder efter et kunstnerisk og positivt sted, hvor du kan have privatliv og fred, mens du er tæt på alt i byen, vil vi bestemt give dig det.

We loved it

Everything was great! We really enjoyed the location and our stay. The only problem my daughter had was the top bunk bed was a little shaky so she was scared to sleep on top. But overall it was a wonderful vacation spot.

Host was great. House was great. Great central location. Overall wonderful stay. Only negative thing is that when booking I thought the property was closer to the beach than it was. I would not consider it walking distance to the beach.

My family chose this home to stay prior to a cruise departing in Galveston. The location was great, we did use Uber to get around. It was easy to find rides from all areas. The beds were not the greatest, they were pretty uncomfortable. We were unable to use the outdoor shower, it had old bedding stored in it. We did use the washer and dryer area. That area was a bit dirty and a load of damp laundry was left in the dryer. Communication prior to our stay was great. Check in was easy.

Great House and Great Location

This is a guest house behind the owner's house, but it was a great experience. The place is well kept and convenient to most of the island. The owners were super helpful, and we never saw them unless we needed something. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely rent again from them.

Communication was great with the owner. We never got lost, thanks to her. We had issues with the WiFi, which we did not communicate with the owner, because it was late and the kids managed to survive. As well as several blinds are broken in the home and Oreos, were left on the ground near the main entrance of the home. Other then that, our stay was short but very nice! It’s very bright and colorful, which we all loved, especially the kids. We would definitely stay here again.

The initial gate was broken/disconnected by host. It took us a bit just to get past that front and had to contact the host for further instruction. The place itself wasn’t bad, but not a 5 minute walk to the beach as advertised. It’s closer to 10 minutes or so, and with kids, longer. This isn’t a bad place if you have your own vehicle. The interior wasn’t bad, although the beds were uncomfortable. I slept on the couch while my kids and family slept in the beds and I got in the middle up in the middle of the night because I had roaches crawling on me. Just for that alone, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. For the same price you can get a nicer hotel or suite relatively closer or around the same distance away where you’re not paying cleaning fees or don’t have to worry about taking trash out yourself/gathering all used linens (towels and such). The host was nice, I saw other reviews about communication, but my main issue was the roaches, fees, and inaccurate listing showing 5 minutes to the beach.

The property was in a great spot in Galveston and quick access to the seawall and restaurants. There were a few things that disappointed us in the listing. First, the check in directions and WiFi networks instructions on the Vrbo email were outdated and need to be updated. The king bed was doable with sleeping but the bunkbed futon mattresses were extremely hard and you could feel the wooden slats in your back. Woke up each day with back pain. The water holder in the coffee machine had mold in it. There were plenty of pillows to use among our family which we appreciated but only 1 washcloth provided for our family of 4. The sign next to this washcloth stated it was for makeup removal and white clothes were for bathing but we found no other washcloths. The host also only provided 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for a family of 4 for a 4 day stay. We had to purchase more paper. Most of the plastic blinds had broken pieces and allowed the sun to blare on your face in the morning. Most of these things are basic expectations when staying in a house rental.

Just what we needed!

Communication with host was very prompt. Dragica was accommodating with each request. The place was as described, but note that it presents as a cottage/guest house at the rear of a main home. It was very clean upon arrival. Comfortable for my family including 2 small kids. Not much yard space, but our purpose was the beach, so that didn't bother us. The beach is very close, about a 4 block walk. Dragica and her cleaning staff have certainly earned an extra special shout out from me. I left behind my wedding ring and they immediately contacted me and mailed it to promptly. She alleviated all my worry and anxiety. I am so grateful to have had THEM as hosts for this stay!

Wonderful stay

This place was quiet and nice. Perfect place for staying when getting on a cruise boat. Only a 5 minute Uber ride from port. Walking distance to beach/dining area.

Great spot

Everything was great! The hosts were amazing, the house was comfortable and clean. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed to cook and eat at home. You are around t blocks away from the ocean, and if you sit outside, you can wear the waves hitting. We bought a train set for our son at the museum and we needed a tiny screwdriver to put the batteries in, and Dragica brought one over within the hour. The backyard is amazing with lights strung up. I can't say enough good things about this place or the hosts. We'll be back!

Great place to stay close to beach

The location of this house is great, a few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels were available for our use, which was a huge convenience. The house is very cute, and while it is small, you could comfortably sleep 8 people (we had 5 and had plenty of sleeping room).
