Third Time's Still The Charm
Another wonderful visit to Ozark Hideaway - our 3rd in just over a year. As usual, everything was set up perfectly and even some improvements were made (love the new cookware). Our host is the most dedicated one you'll find that cares about your experience and strives to ensure your time there is both memorable and enjoyable.

We had a great time!
The cabin was very clean and decorated for Christmas! We enjoyed hiking on the well marked trails and enjoyed the serenity of the property. We used the grill and had a small fire in the chiminea. Overall a very relaxing weekend. Also Anne is a great host and even baked us some delicious pumpkin muffins and left a Christmas card. Thank you Anne!

Much needed time!
I only gave the accuracy of online posting 4 stars because there has been a change! The futon has been replaced with a new, very comfy couch! Great for naps (we took several 😉). The only other thing I would note is that the fridge is on the small side. We were staying 8 days which is longer than most stay so I’m sure most of the time it is completely sufficient. The trails were fabulous. The cabin cozy and comfy. The attention to detail is amazing. Night lights, flashlights, labeling of light switches, etc. Small things that made such a difference! Overall we had an amazingly quiet, calm and much needed week! Thanks!!!

If I could rate this any higher, I would. Five stars isn’t enough. From the moment we walked in until we left, I was so happy with our choice of where to stay in the Ozarks. If you want a peaceful stay in the country, you will love this rental.

Loved this Dog Friendly Cabin
Everything was terrific! Hiking opportunities on the property & close to many Dawt mill, our family’s meeting destination. The resort wasn’t dog friendly but this little place way. Loved it . Will be back in the future:)

A Great Getaway
This space was exactly what we were looking for when it came to our getaway vacation! It was peaceful and serene, with lovely views. Anne was very kind to meet with, though we didn't run into each other very often. They were sure to help us out if we needed anything, but everything was smooth! Would definitely stay again in the future. And it was so great to be able to bring our dog along to enjoy the stay as well.

Beautiful and peaceful
It's a little ways out of Gainsville but worth the drive. Beautiful scenery, hiking trails and friendly hosts. The cabin is clean, well appointed and a great place to relax. We want to make another trip in the fall.

Modern rustic
I stayed at the cabin for a week while on a genealogy expedition. I chose the cabin because I wanted the comfort of a home rather than a hotel room. I wasn't disappoint. Charlotte and Anne were gracious hosts who live next to the cabin and are right there if you need anything. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities I needed. The location of the cabin is stellar. I would have my coffee on the back patio and the only thing you will hear is the call of Doves or Whippoorwills. You can also watch the squirrels chasing each other in the trees. I slept at night like I was in my own bed. I only had time to take one short hike down to the waterfall. The woods are beautiful. But be sure to look down as you hike along, there are many unusual rocks to look at to include geodes. I give Ozark Hideaway Cabin 5 stars!

We loved the clean, private, well stocked property. We enjoyed an easy hike to the waterfall and spent an afternoon wandering the trails. The owners were thoughtful and attentive. We would definitely do this one again.

Amazing hosts!
Absolutely beautiful area and beautiful property! The trails were well marked and wide. The multiple trails were great for exploring and we enjoyed walking all of them. The waterfall is a must see! Spring is the best time to see it flowing. Very peaceful stay overall. The hosts were definitely one of our favorite parts of staying here. We really enjoyed visiting with them and getting to know them. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope that we get to again someday!

Wonderful stay!
Could not ask for a nicer place to stay. Everything was as it was listed but more! Check-in process was painless, super clean, everything from the TV to HVAC, internet, EVERYTHING was perfectly explained in simple ,practical instructions. If you are looking for a place that you can refresh and relax and never as much hear a car....peace and quite it what you will get. so comfortable, the mattress was incredible, I cant say enough about my stay here. I was passing through on business. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Lovely, Private Getaway in the Woods
The hosts were very nice. They offer a contactless check-in process, but are readily available if you need anything. They left a welcome basket with a birthday card and home made muffins for me and dog biscuits for my pups. When one of my pups managed to damage himself, the hosts provided the contact info for their vet who offers emergency services in the nearby town of Gainesville. The property really is in the woods - county gravel roads off long, winding, narrow paved roads. As a Los Angeles native, I would not be comfortable driving those roads in during wintry/icy/snowy weather. But outside of that, it does feel like you're going to the middle of nowhere - which is what I was hoping for. The cabin is within site of the main house, so you are not entirely isolated, but the hosts do not invade your space or bother you - though they are very friendly when you do bump into them on property. There is a resident cat who is the official greeter of the property. He will walk right up to you and insist on head-butts and scratches as he climbs into your lap and purrs away. The trails are lovely, though I would caution that they lean a lot closer to hiking than nature trails. Some of the hills are easily a 10%+ grade, with some areas that are closer to 30% (for very short stretches). The hosts provide 2 walking sticks which I found very helpful for maintaining balance going down the hills of the trail, and for balance and assist going up the steeper hills. The cabin was clean and had everything I needed. But you are in the woods. You will have some bugs sharing your residence despite the hosts spraying the property regularly. But that's part of the adventure of staying in the woods. I highly recommend the Ozark Hideaway and would stay here again for sure - though maybe in the fall when we're not in the middle of a massive heat wave.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and the site pictures are spot on. No disappointment here. Hosts take great pride in their property and it is set up as if they lived here. We are husband and wife who celebrated our anniversary here, our first vacation in 32 years without kids or grands. We were looking for serene surroundings over fun, but we found both. The area is secluded, off the beaten path but with available wifi and good cell reception if you need to communicate. I love that our hosts live nearby on the property; made me feel secure knowing if I needed help, a voice in another state or country wouldn't be answering the phone. Anne and Charlotte are very respectful of your privacy. They are caring and friendly people, pet lovers. That was all I needed to know. No details spared in making you feel welcome and at home. We were welcomed with a sweet note and sweet treats for us and our fur baby. There is a large binder with detailed maps and info on the area that was painstakingly put together. Everything in the cabin was clearly labeled and easy to locate. The hiking trails are just out the patio door, and well maintained and clearly marked. There is an area for grilling and a large fire pit. There is a short drive to get to the nearby lakes and sites and for restaurants or supplies. Everyone in the area is friendly. Perfect example of country living. The only con for me is ticks, because I am allergic to their bites, but we brought repellent, and the hosts were thoughtful enough to provide some and recommend it. We hope to return and experience the area in the fall or winter. Book here confidently; you won't be disappointed.

This property is a little slice of heaven! We fell in love through the pictures in the listing but were blown away in person. Charlotte and Anne were gracious, thoughtful hosts and great communicators! They truly thought of everything all they way down to the nightlight placement! We have been back 1 day and I've already recommended this getaway to four people! It was a magical stay and we left relaxed and at peace.

Wonderful and Out of the Way.
I want to start out that their well water is the best I've ever drank in my life. The beds and other furniture were very comfortable. Things were well labeled. Instructions were given to help find things and signs were posted when needed. Beware that these are the mountains and you might need to take motion sickness medicine to prepare for the hills and curves depending on which way you come. I wish I had thought about it beforehand. The area was beautiful. My son and husband walked the trails and discovered volcanic rock, a waterfall, a spring, and saw animal tracks. I wasn't able to hike, but enjoyed myself staying in and working on projects. If it had not been cold and rainy I would have enjoyed working outside. The owners are sweet people. We got to visit with them for a bit. They really live out hospitality in this rental and that care shows through everything. We stopped in the town of Gainesville on the way out. We went to the thrift store and ate at one of the four restaurants we found there. We also stopped at Laura Ingalls Wlder's home in Mansfield about an hour away. If we had had time we would have gone to Baker Creek Seeds also around Mansfield. So even though the cabin is remote there are still things to do even if you aren't into or able to do outdoorsy stuff. There is lots of outdoorsy stuff listed in their helpful notebook, too. We just wanted to be at the cabin, though. We had a lovely time and we hope to return.

Tucked away Gem!
This property is just 15 mins from a small town but you feel like you’re completely in seclusion! There are great hiking trails and cool vistas around the property. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools needed to cook and the living room and dining area are comfy. There is a nice selection of movies to watch and a covered back patio to enjoy the sunny afternoons on. We would definitely stay here again.

I HIGHLY recommend someone staying here! The host was very hospitable. There was a basket of delicious muffins and a card welcoming us. I also needed an iron and ironing board and it was there when we arrived. They had a book with things to do and maps for the area. So helpful! We will definitely be back!

Cabin in the country
This place is wonderful for anyone who wants to get away from the bustle of the city, and enjoy their time in nature! The furniture is comfortable, the linens were fresh and clean, the kitchen had everything you could need, and there was wifi available if you happened to need it. Cell service was good also, but it's so beautiful there that it's easy to forget about cell phones or internet at all! The trails were easily identifiable, and walking staffs were provided to help get around the terrain. The waterfall was easy enough to find, although during this stay it was dry. This place would comfortably sleep three adults, possibly four, without feeling cramped, but it's still cozy enough to not feel empty with only one or two people. The hosts Anne and Charlotte were very friendly, and nearby in case they were needed for anything, but also respectful of privacy if you want to be alone. This cabin is definitely going to be on my list for a repeat visit!

Perfect little weekend getaway for peace and quiet
My family of four (myself, my husband, 4 year old, 6 year old and our lab☺️) enjoyed our 2 night stay! There are several trails (with a map) on the property-which were very well marked and cleared off. Our family was only able to do one trail due to the weather, but it was very walkable and beautiful. The property owner lives in the house next door and was very, very nice and helpful. The cabin was VERY clean, smelled wonderful, and offered gorgeous views out of each window. Our 4 and 6 year olds did well sleeping in the loft. Pros: -Check in was very easy since the key was in a lock box at the front door. -The cabin stayed very well heated, which made for a very cozy stay. -Plenty of furniture for seating -Washer and dryer in the cabin -Trails to walk located right outside the cabin’s back door. (This was especially nice since we didn’t have to drive anywhere to hike trails!) -Large bathroom -Linens (bedding, towels), toilet paper, trash bags, dishes, silverware, cooking pans/dishes/utensils, dish soap, coffee, sugar, paper towels, cleaning supplies, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, detergeant, dvds, books, games were all provided-NICE. -There was a tourist guide binder in the cabin that the hosts put together that provided helpful information on local attractions, restaurants, churches, emergency phone numbers, and maps outlining the property and the trails located on the property. -We had great cell phone service/signal the entire stay (through AT&T) -Tasty little welcome gift from hosts that was waiting on us when we checked in, very nice touch :) Cons-(I am only listing these based on what I would have liked-but for what you pay for this cabin, it would not be fair to “complain” about these things-because this cabin is already at a bargain price and adding some of these things would certainly drive the price up.) -There isn’t a door to the bedroom. There is a door to the bathroom, so that allowed privacy for changing. -The kitchen ceilings were a little low for my husband, but he is 6’7. If you’re very tall and have trouble ducking down, keep that in mind. -There is not WiFi provided, but there is an antenna, so we had a few channels to watch with no problem :) *Pros by far outweigh the cons. You cannot beat the cabin’s price and accommodations. We hope to return again!

End of the year getaway
It was the perfect place to get away with our 2 fur babies for a few days. The cabin was just a short distance out of Gainesville. We were looking for some fresh air and peace and quiet. It was a great place to relax and do a little hiking in the area. The cabin was cozy and well-appointed. Our hosts were gracious and we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. 🙂

Wonderful hidden gem with lots of nature
We had a great Christmas time at the cabin! The cabin is cute and fuctional, the owners put up some wonderful Christmas decorations, the kitchen was more than functional with a lot of appliances (oven, mixer, bread roaster, crookpots) so we got to bake for Christmas, the property has great hiking trails (about 3 miles total) with a pretty wet weather waterfall, the road is rural and suitable to run on and there are a several nice day hikes in the area. Big plus was that our dog was welcome. Verizon reception at the cabin is good and suitable to download emails, etc. as there is no wifi. The owners live on the property, are really easy to communicate with and very kind. When we needed an issue resolved it was fixed in no time.

Should have spent more time at the property and less time in my deerstand
I came up to Missouri for a last minute hunt. I was looking for the closest place I could stay to where I would be hunting. Really glad I chose Charlotte and Anne’s beautiful property. Before I even arrived they text me to welcome me and let me know they’d turned the outside light on for me. They had a lot of special touches that really appreciated. The property was beautiful. The house is very cozy and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back in the near future. Thanks Charlotte & Anne!!
