From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice the seamless accessibility of the main level—no steps or stairs from the driveway into the cabin. Inside, warm Amish-crafted beams, a cozy stone fireplace, and peaceful uplighting set the tone for conversation and connection. Outside, two expansive 60-foot decks overlook a valley, natural cave, and seasonal waterfall—perfect for enjoying morning coffee, fall colors, or starry nights in the hot tub.
After a day of hiking directly into Daniel Boone National Forest from your backyard, unwind by the firepit, challenge friends in the game room, or curl up in the sensory nook under twinkling star lights.
We do not allow pets at Pinecone Trails Cabin. If you have a qualified service dog, please let us know in advance.

Electronic door code provided with check-in instructions. To open the door, touch the Yale button on top then enter your 6-digit code followed by the checkmark to accept. To lock the door from outside, simply push the Yale button.
This is what many consider to be the peaceful side of the Red River Gorge. Located near the Indian Creek Resort area. Beautiful valley view behind the cozy cabin. Paved road leading almost all the way to cabin, then well groomed gravel the last bit to the cabin.. The view from the hot tub is absolutely beautiful and it is an unobstructed view of trees, valley and cave. There is also a seasonal waterfall visible from the deck. The hot tub sits on a covered 12'x60' deck that also has a dining table as well as a screened in porch with couch and chairs.
Very scenic area. Guests love this quiet escape where they can get away from it all. Close to the cabin are long beautiful roads for walks and a marked old logging trail that is called Laurel Rock Trail. The cabin is 30-45 minutes from different attractions and areas in Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge and Cave Run Lake. Devil's Market House Arch trail is 15-minutes away. Many of the most familiar trails and hikes are about 40-minutes away. There are several great trailheads about 25-minutes away on the road leading to the famous Nada Tunnel. Most trailheads allow limited parking on the side of the road. Some have dedicated parking lots.
Another popular trail is Broke Leg Falls in Wellington, KY. Guests often write about Gorge Underground, Zip lining, Natural Bridge Skylift, Out the Top ATV Adventures, Fishing and boating at Cave Run Lake. Favorite restaurants are Miguels Pizza, La Cabana Mexican, Redpointe BBQ, Staybridge, Red River Rockhouse, and the Daniel Boone Coffee Shop in Slade. Bring your Kayaks to enjoy beautiful Cave Run Lake The closest launch point is 25 minutes away. You can also rent a pontoon boat to cruise around the lake. We also have guests that spend their trip just relaxing at the cabin, making milkshakes, enjoying the hot tub and cooking a delicious meal in our fully stocked kitchen.. Very scenic area. 30-45 minutes from most attractions and areas in Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge and Cave Run Lake. All areas of the Gorge have the possibility of forest animals. Hike and explore at your own risk. Cellular signals can be spotty in the Gorge so start your navigation maps for driving when you have Wifi at the cabin or other businesses in the Gorge.
* You must be 25 years of age to rent.
* Check in begins at 4pm and check out is at 11 am (Do not enter before 4:00 EST. This is for our cleaning staff safety)
* This is a smoke-free cabin. No smoking of any substance, including vaping. You may smoke outside, but please pick up all trash. Our cabin is in the forest. Please help us protect the woods.
* No drug use is allowed. If our cleaners enter the cabin after you check out and smell marijuana or find any signs of smoking, we will immediately contact Airbnb or VRBO. There will be a $500 penalty and any additional cleaning fees. If the odor causes the next reservation to be canceled, we will pursue reimbursement through Airbnb or VRBO.
* No pets allowed (except certified Service Dogs) NO CATS, NO EXCEPTIONS. We have a family member with a severe cat allergy.
* There are no parties permitted on the premises. If there is a party, your reservation will be immediately terminated without a refund.
* This cabin, while offering deluxe accommodations, is also in a remote area. Occasionally, guests may experience weather conditions or power outages that are beyond our control. In the event that this happens, we will do all we can to assist, but we are not responsible for circumstances beyond our control. There will be no refunds for these instances.
* We make every effort to keep the hot tub functioning properly as it is the most requested amenity. However, mechanical problems may occur that cannot be resolved quickly in this remote area. No refunds will be made because of this. If this happens, please know that we will make every effort to fix the problem as soon as we can.
* Our cabin accommodates 8 guests, including children. The number of people in the cabin may not exceed the number of people on the reservation without owner approval. Only guests listed in the booking will be allowed on the premises. Immediate removal of guests (and all extra persons) from the property without a refund will be a result of violating this rule. If there is a disturbance, with more guests than specified in the booking, each person at the home will be charged a $50 fine.
* During your rental, if house rules are not followed, which triggers a discount or refund to the next guest, you will be responsible for any lost income by the host.
* No refunds are permitted due to sudden inclement weather.
** Our hearts are for all guests. The first floor is accessible. Please reach out in advance if you are in a wheelchair or have other mobility needs. We have taken great care to put in ramps and larger doorways. We can have a special electronic game brought from downstairs to the first floor to give more game options upstairs.
*** Easy check out. Used towels put on the bathroom floor, sheets left on the bed, trash taken out to outside trash, dishes in dishwasher then started. Check cabins for belongings and drive safe!
The cabin is in Frenchburg, KY. Cell service in the area can be spotty so please load your map before arriving in the local area. If your map directs you to take a road from the high school and the gravel quarry (Patrick Cemetery Rd), please do not follow it. That is a gravel road and extremely difficult to navigate. You should take HWY 460 from Frenchburg then McCausey Ridge Rd and follow remainder of map instructions.
