initially contacted Expedia to cancel my hotel reservation after realizing that the hotel was significantly farther from my destination than your website had led me to believe. I was informed by an Expedia representative that although I was past the cancellation deadline, I could request hotel approval and would only be charged one night’s stay.
Following this advice, I contacted the hotel directly. The hotel manager informed me that because the booking was made through a third-party service, they were unable to cancel the reservation and instructed me to contact Expedia again. I did so, and Expedia reached out to the hotel on my behalf.
Despite these steps and the assurance I received from your representative, I was ultimately charged over for the full stay, even though I did not stay at the hotel at all. This directly contradicts what was communicated to me during my initial call with Expedia.
I later received a $50 credit toward a future booking, which does not adequately address being charged in full for a stay I never used, nor the incorrect information I was given by customer service.
Unfortunately, I was pass the cancellation date and didn’t mind pay for one night as originally agreed to with a representative
