This is a review of the host and Vrbo, not the Apartment itself, as I didn't stay at the Apartment due to the host informing me there was a malfunction with electricity and no heat or hot water, so we couldn't stay there. (We were travelling in january, and travelling with an infant). This information was given less than 24 hours before check in, after the host not responding to me reaching out for days before this time. Since the information was given so late, I could not cancel and get a refund. And this was the main issue.I asked the host to cancel the stay, so I could get a refund. They would not (they suggested we cancelled and booked another one of their Apartments), and after a while they just stopped answering on chat. Then I asked Vrbo to help with a cancellation and a refund. Vrbo kept telling me this was up to the host. And they kept reach out to the host on my behalf. I was on the Phone / chat with Vrbo customer service and at least 8 different agents at their customer care over the scope of 12 hours. Making expensive international calls and communicating through the chat service that kept breaking down. Stating my case all over again each time. After 5 days I finally got a refund from Vrbo.
