The Space:

The apartment is called Il Pianoforte — and the name is anything but coincidental. The street it sits on bears the name of Bartolomeo Cristofori, the Paduan instrument maker who spent most of his life in Florence at the service of the Medici court, and who, around the year 1700, invented the piano. A quiet tribute to a man who changed the history of sound, largely unrecognized in his own time.

The owners have always felt a deep connection to that story. Traces of it run gently through the apartment — in the details, the décor, the small references to Cristofori and his invention that you'll find along the way. Nothing loud or theatrical. Just the kind of character that makes a place feel like it belongs to someone.

Just a short walk away is the Parco delle Cascine, the city's vast green lung, perfect for an early morning run or a peaceful stroll along the Arno. Nearby, the Teatro del Maggio — Florence's acclaimed opera house — stands as one of the city's most striking modern landmarks.



Step outside and you'll find everything you need right at your doorstep. A lively stretch of local shops lines the street just 1–2 minutes away — a supermarket, a pastry shop, a butcher, a bakery, a fishmonger, restaurants and pizzerias, many of which are family-run and too local to appear on any map or app. You can actually see them from the apartment windows. Getting Around:

From Santa Maria Novella Station

The apartment is within walking distance — roughly 15 minutes on foot — or a short tram ride away. The nearest stop on Line T2 is Alamanni-Stazione, from where the neighborhood is just a few minutes away.



From Amerigo Vespucci Airport

The most convenient option is the T2 tram line, which connects the airport directly to Santa Maria Novella Station in around 20-25 minutes, with departures every 10 minutes and tickets from just €1.50. From the Alamanni-Stazione stop, the apartment is easily reachable on foot or with one additional tram stop.



Other Things to Note:

Pets are not allowed, smoking is not permitted inside the apartment, and we kindly ask you to respect the peaceful residential character of the area.
