"We picked Lakeside Inn because it was on Clear Lake, and it didn't disappoint. We took the kids to the city beach and we all loved it. Then, back to the room and there was a great restaurant/lounge right next door--all outdoor tables--where we had dinner and watched the sun go down over the lake. Don't miss the donut place a half mile north in the morning. The best!"

"We stayed at the Garner Inn & Suites after a concert at the Surf Ballroom in nearby Clear Lake. It's about a 10 or 15 minute drive from Clear Lake, super easy, just down the highway. The Garner Inn is very comfortable and well appointed, actually nicer than you might expect to find in a small town. The breakfast included hot items like sausage and omelets, in addition to the expected items like a waffle machine and muffins and yogurt. Staff was very friendly."

"We loved the thoughtful restoration of this unique historic property. Every little detail was attuned to the Arts & Crafts period and reflected Frank Lloyd Wright’s aesthetic. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. We were charmed by the hotel, the central city park across the street, and the many options for entertainment and learning in Mason City. We plan to return. It’s a delightful spot for a weekend getaway."
