Amazing location, just a short trip to Douglas/ Saugatuck. The beach is easily accessible with a moderately long set of stairs down the dune to the beach which was almost entirely private (stairs are shared with adjacent property). While we were staying there was a good 40 ft of white sandy beach which was perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, and swimming. The view from the backyard and top of the dune is immaculate. Home amenities are appropriate and maintained.

This place was perfect for our family vacation. It is the perfect location with beach access for our kiddos to enjoy the beach anytime of day. We were able to walk down to the beach with the stairs located above the bluffs and the beach area was almost private. Not many people so it was nice and secluded. Check in and out was super easy. The house had everything we needed. There is a starter pack of soap, shampoo, etc which was nice. We were able to drive to the grocery store to get more supplies. This was clearly communicated to us in the welcome packet. We will definitely stay here again in the future as it is the perfect beach location!! Just keep in mind there are 75 stairs to get down the beach so it’s a good workout.

Beach and lake front cottage!

We stayed the week. The house has a great location. A short drive to Saugatauk, Holland, and South Haven. The house was clean and well maintained. We saw deer and turkey. The private Beach with lake access was perfect for the family.

Secluded beach getaway

This was perfect for my wife and my two medium sized dogs. About 3/4 a mile off the interstate, tucked back in the woods right off the beach. The property was quiet and peaceful. We could watch the sunset and storms roll in over the beach from our window. The house was perfect, but we spent most of our time strolling the beach or swimming, and visiting the small towns minutes away. I would book this 100 more times.

Beautiful location

House was perfect for family of five . Cozy - nice kitchen and beautiful views of sunset . Address is not accurate in check in instructions- especially confusing when arriving at night .

Good Stuff and Not So Good Stuff

It took a half an hour and 4 calls to the "emergency" number to get a correct address and code. It had been a long day but thankful for Hailey who finally got us in! Property was listed at $300/night. Actually cost=$448/n with all the added fees. (And we still stripped the beds!!) The house was fine not updated in any way but fine. About 150' from the water with no access to the water. But the view from the Adirondack chairs was excellent. For the price we would not consider a return. But all that being said we had a great time being together for the first time since pre-Covid so that's what we'll remember most!

Sunset Bluff

Beautiful sunsets. Property on the outside needs a serious power washing and clean up. Inside was very clean. You can not access the beach from the property which we new it was off limits. Someone called the property management stating we where on the beach. The property management called us and we where not even at the property. Which was super frustrating. The property management was great to work with. The neighbors also complained we had a huge bonfire which was untrue. I probably would not rent at that house again because of the neighbors that clearly do not like rentals.

Delightful and unpretenious

A very clean a comfortable small house with beautiful yard and bluff overlook. Amazing sunsets. No beach access. The woods are thick, shady and cool. Dark on cloudy days, so comfortable when hot and sunny. Great HVAC and hot water. Awful coffee maker.

Property wasn’t very clean, cobwebs in the house, coffee still in the carafe, coffee grounds in the basket. The house had a very musky smell. We really expected a better house for the money. The owners should put some TLC into their property. One upside is the beautiful lake view.

Overpriced for the experience

Overall, our stay at this location was average. While the view of the lake was gorgeous, we overpaid based on the overall experience. The house is outdated and needs remodeling. The walls of the bedroom are paper thin. There was an odor on some of the furniture. The property owners called a maintenance guy during our stay to fix the garbage disposal which could have waited until we checked out. One of the two bathrooms was connected to the master bedroom which was not mentioned in the listing. It would be good if the property owners built stairs to the private beach on the property so that we did not have to drive a mile to get to the beach.

Great girls’ trip!

Sunset Bluff was a wonderful setting for an annual girls’ trip. The home was clean and comfortable for our group of 5. The home is set back from the road and accessed by a long tree-lined driveway. Though there are houses on each side, it feels very private due to the wooded setting. We enjoyed sitting by the bluff at the end of the and watching the beautiful sunsets and listening to the waves. It is a great location-close to Saugatuck and Oval Beach. Nearby small Douglas Beach is nice but parking limited and many stairs if you have someone with mobility issues.

Beautiful sunsets

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house was spacious and comfy and no complaints on the accommodations. It was definitely disappointing to not have beach access because all the surrounding houses do. And the nearby beaches are nice but the parking fills up quickly so be sure to get there early. We did know ahead of time that the beach access was not working so it wasn’t a surprise. But we were still jealous of the nearby homes. Overall we would definitely return to this beautiful location! The fire pit was the highlight and we used it every night. An ideal family spot!

Lake Michigan View

The property sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. It's beautiful. Enjoyed sitting on the bluff and having a bonfire overlooking the lake. The property is close to Douglas and Saugatuck. Really enjoyed the area and all it has to offer. Yes, the house is not modern and could use some updating, but it had all the essentials. We stayed for a week and had our 18+ aged kids come visit with their friends throughout the week. Rooms worked out fine for the group. Property is situated in the woods, so be prepared for your shoes to get dirty/sandy and it to be tracked into the house frequently (always sweeping up the sand in the house). There are several spots within a short bike ride or car ride to get to the beach. I recommend the County Park one. We also went to Oval Beach. Wonderful when it's not busy. During the 4th of July timeframe, we couldn't get in, as parking filled up quickly. We brought bikes but I don't think the area is really condusive to biking. Biking down to beach area there isn't any shoulder. Same with biking into town area. No bike lanes, no shoulder, no trails/paths. Hindsight, we wouldn't have brought our bikes. Overall, great area, nice property and easy working with property company and check-in/out went well. Only suggestions would be to have a big entry rug to collect dirt/sand at the kitchen door, would be ideal to have a deck or even a table in the backyard to eat outside and enjoy the views of the lake, and upgrade the bath towels. All-in, Great!
