Welcome to your dream home on the Eastside of Evansville! This charming, well maintained brick ranch sits on a corner lot with a spacious front yard with mature trees. The house offers three bedrooms, a modern bathroom and an updated kitchen. The secluded fenced-in backyard, complete with a patio area, provides the perfect retreat for relaxation and entertaining.

Please note that the original oven does not work and there is a convectional oven in place. The dishwasher is also not usable.

The property was tired, run down and looked nothing like pictures. The kitchen was dirty and poorly equipped. We spent an hour cleaning the kitchen to make it usable. There were cockroaches in kitchen in large numbers. All the original appliances were broken although a small oven, microwave and hob top were available. No instructions for these were available. The fridge door had dropped so did not seal properly. Cupboards and drawers were in poor state of repair many not shutting properly. There was insufficient cutlery, plates and mugs for the number of people the property could accommodate and no sharp knives for food preparation. Many of the plates, bowls and glasses were chipped. The dishwasher was broken and only handwashing item available was one scourer. No washing up liquid was provided. Probably why cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery was dirty on arrival. Bedding was less than savoury and with careful searching we were able to find sufficient clean bedding for the beds. Much of the bedding was marked, had blood stains and generally awful looking. The water pressure was no existent. You could only only run shower, flush toilet or kitchen faucet one at a time. Flush the toilet while running the shower and the shower would cease to run. The general repair of the place was poor. Floor tiles broken, carpet fraying and dirty, light bulbs missing or broken, blinds ripped or completely missing, mats used to hide floor problems dirty and curling creating trip hazards.

The house was cozy and warm and has potential. Parking was good except the abandoned car in the driveway. Water pressure was terrible especially in the bathroom. The oven, convection oven, and dishwasher all did not work. Don't leave food on the counter even for a second or there will most likely be a roach in it. Pet friendly was key to our renting this place but the fence has a large section missing causing us the chase our daughters dog through yards to the highway to retrieve her. Most likely not on the list for next year.

FALSE ADVERTISING AT ITS FINEST — ROACH-INFESTED NIGHTMARE This rental looks beautiful in the photos — clean, cozy, nicely decorated. Don’t fall for it. What the pictures don’t show is the absolute infestation of cockroaches hiding behind the pretty façade. We booked this place for two nights thinking we scored an awesome getaway, followed by a family trip to Holiday world during the day!… instead, we ended up trapped in a health hazard. Cockroaches were everywhere — crawling across the floors, walls, kitchen counters, and even in the bathrooms and bedrooms. Nothing was safe. We were afraid to open our bags, eat anything, or even sleep. It was so bad we left early — and still didn’t get a single cent back. The host was completely unhelpful and took no responsibility. No refund, no attempt to fix it, just empty excuses. Vrbo/Expedia should be ashamed for allowing this listing to remain active. It’s straight-up false advertising. This wasn’t a vacation, it was a roach-infested nightmare in disguise. Avoid this place at ALL costs unless you want to bring home a few six-legged souvenirs.

The vathroom of the home was updated and in good repair although there was very low water pressure for the shower. The home was in disrepair. No appliances...no oven or dishwasher...in kitchen worked but the fridge, even though the description said kitchen and microwave. I asked more than once about the fence outside to see if in decent repair because we had a dog. It was falling down and a large hole in a section. Side walk was all broken up and a major tripping hazard. Home upon entry smelled like smoke and pee. We were asked to leave a tip for cleaner, even though we already paid a heafty fee for cleaning. We said we would if clean, was not floors upswept and very dusty. My daughter was in kitxhen making coffee and a cockroach ran acrossed the counter...he wasnt the only one sad to say. Not worth stayin at until the give thos home the attention it needs.

It's a nice little place just needed a good cleaning it wasn't clean when we got there but he offered to send somebody out but we where already inside with all our stuff so I cleaned things. Oven and dishwasher do not work and low water pressure. If u have dogs careful missing a section of gate. We did enjoy our stay though and there wasn't any video games like the pic shows and says.

We did not stay at all! Unacceptable conditions! Waiting for my full refund!

It was obvious there had not been a housekeeper in before our arrival. Our family consisted of three adult couples from Michigan who came to visit nearby relatives. My daughter and husband arrived to find a live bed bug on the sofa and more dead bugs through out, on a bed and in the tub. Trash on floors, cob webs and they said there were even clothes left in both washer and dryer. I messaged the host he offered to send someone to clean and said the bed bug may have flew in from an open window. Perhaps he forgot I had reserved weeks ago? I told him no, I will not take the risk of taking bed bugs back to our homes and we will not stay. After all the frustration and losing most of the evening that was planned to spend with family we managed to find clean accommodations for the six of us. It was much farther though and just before midnight.

Should not be a vacation rental

Unfortunately, our stay was not as good as i had hoped. I do not mean to offend anyone, just being informative. First the good stuff - the A/C worked great, the Wi-Fi was great, and the coffee station was great. The description of the property is misleading on severall accounts. Is it not well maintained - overgrown, mosquito infested backyard, not a relaxing patio area, fencing is falling down and covered in vines, no exterior lights near the main door (that we could find). The kitchen is not updated as advertised - when i first entered the kitchen, there was an empty bottle of water on the table and an upside down energy drink in the sink that had attracted bugs. Almost zero water pressure to do dishes. Dishwasher was advertised as unusable (which was fine), but it was filled with dirty dishes when we arrived. Plates in cupboard were also dirty. Description also mentions video games and hair dryer which we didnt see either of those items. There was no plug for the bathtub. The basket of towels provided had wet moldy towels at the bottom of it, so we had to bleach the towels before use. And lastly, a book shelf, that wasnt properly anchored to the wall, nearly fell on my toddler. Owner was responsive to messages about the shower water pressure, which was appreciated, but we were disappointed with our stay overall. Many things need to be fixed at this property.

BEWARE

I arrived at the property and it was overgrown with weeds and shrubs. The grass had been cut, but it had clearly not been cut in sometime because it was a mess. There is an abandoned car, covered in dirt, parked out front and felt like an unsafe area. Owner said the housekeeper stole the title and he can’t drive it. Upon entering the home it had a very strong musty basement smell. The owner suggested to open windows to air it out. There were gnats flying as you walked in the home. The window sills had dead flies and other bugs with debris. There was paint peeling on the walls. The couch is very run down and when you sit on it completely sinks in. The paint and drywall in the bedroom to the left of the hall was atrocious. The carpet going into it was also pulling up from the floor at the entry way making it a tripping hazard. I pulled down the bedding in that bedroom and the pillow had hair and debris on it. The dishwasher had a sticker to not use and was partially sticking out from the counter. Seemed dangerous. The back yard had overgrown shrubs and part of the fence was coming down in the back. The fire pit area was weed infested. I vacated the property immediately and contacted the property owner but have not had any resolution that is reasonable. VRBO has yet to get a response from the owner Jason.

Mid century bungalow

The house was beautiful. I was there to celebrate Mothers Day with my oldest son and his wife. I brought my dog as a car companion and she really enjoyed the fenced in back yard. In fact, we spent 2 days in the shaded back yard with my son and his wife. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. I can see myself spending more time at this house for future visits.

Filthy with broken appliances

Our family arrived to find a filthy home with feces/urine all over toilet along with hair (including pubic hair) on toliet, covering tub, and sinks. Dishwasher and oven broken with signs "do not use". Trash, debris, and stains scattered around floors along with loose screws on carpet. Dirty dishes on counter. Large red stain on kitchen floor. Matresses with stains and hair with bedding shoved in corners. Awful odor. Notified owner immediately. Owner agreed to refund then changed his mind. I offered to pay for 1 night which I felt more than fair given we were only in home a few mins, long enough to get pictures to document. Owner agreed to charge for 1 night only and updated reservation to 1 night stay then he changed the nightly rental fee to equal what we already paid for full week. Eventually refunded less than 1/3 of what we paid despite the fact that he was able to rent out the property to someone else for the entire length of our intended stay and beyond. When I questioned this he replied "go away you ungrateful creature". VRBO of no help either. VRBO resolution was for me to clean the home myself. I was not going to expose myself or family to potentially infectious bodily fluids, nor could I repair a broken oven or dishwasher. Interestingly, my official pdf receipt inaccurate as it shows I paid 1/10 of what I was charged. Do not recommend this property or host.

Cute place in a comfortable neighborhood

This place is a cute little ranch with a great backyard. The place is very clean. Yard is fenced. My kids loved the switch/PlayStation and the foosball table. Wasn’t super well equipped (no cups! Don’t worry we bought some and donated them) and the dishwasher doesn’t work but honestly you can’t beat the price and pets allowed too. The neighborhood feels very comfortable and safe. We walked all over. Every kind of store and restaurant is within a 10 minute drive. I give this place double double thumbs up!

Stay with My Dog

Overall, the property/ home was as expected. A few points of feedback: 1) the water was not on when I arrived and I had to be present to get the water turned out, which was a bit of a hassle, as I was headed straight to a funeral showing when I got into town, so I was not able to spend as much time at the funeral home. 2) I emailed and asked ahead of time if the property was fully fenced, and I was assured that it was. When I arrived, I realized there was about a 10 foot section where the fence was down/ not secure. I tried to block it off the best that I could, but ultimately, I ended up having to take my dog out on leash. The number one reason I was staying here rather than elsewhere was because there was a fully fenced back yard. 3) There was a large amount of dog poop scattered around the yard, some of which looked pretty gross. I am sure someone was supposed to pick this up, but I would recommend checking/ getting this taken care of in advance in the future before a new guest arrives.
