Oystercatcher Cozy Cottage on the Key, Bikes, Kayaks and More!

The Oystercatcher offers a king bed, a queen bed, both with luxurious linens and comfy mattress, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa is located in the living room. The large kitchen has all you need to create delicious meals from local fresh fish and farmer's markets. This newly renovated cottage is just a 3 minute walk to the Gulf waters and shell strewn beach. Explore the key on one of the on-site bicycles or venture out on a SUP or Kayak. Relax in our tropical backyard oasis by one of our wood or gas burning fire pits. BBQ grills, laundry, outdoor showers, and everything you need for the beach is provided. Pack your bags and head to your nest, the Oystercatcher.

The property has been beautifully updated in 2025 featuring a newly renovated kitchen, bathroom, new furnishings, and luxury details. Each cottage is two bedroom, one bath. A thoughtfully appointed kitchen, dining table, living room with queen-sized sleeper sofa, one king bedroom, and one queen bedroom are among the comforts offered. Savor your morning beverage or evening cocktail on your private wrap-around screened-in lanai or enjoy our backyard tropical oasis featuring gas and wood burning fire pits. The unit offers other conveniences such as: contactless, private entry, microwave, range, Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator. Free Wi-Fi. A cable connected 55” Smart TV in the living room and 40” TV’s in each bedroom to view shows using your favorite streaming apps. Other shared amenities include an on-site laundry, bbq grill area, adult bikes and kayaks for your use.

We provide beach carts, chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, everything you need to get the most out of your day at the beach, just a short 3 minute walk. Grab one of our beach cruiser bicycles (adult-sized) to explore the key, or catch a spectacular sunset. Paddle around Lemon Bay in one of our kayaks, or a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) offered with your stay. Spend the day fishing from the local pier or shark-tooth and shell collecting up and down our beautiful beach. Keep an eye out for dolphins, manatees and perhaps a sea turtle hatchling making their way to the sea! Conveniently close are our island restaurants, ready to satisfy your culinary cravings. Take our weekend island shuttle so that you can dance the night away to live music at some of our neighborhood establishments. Manasota Key has conveniently located boat and jet ski rentals, and parasailing as well. This cottage is the rear unit of a very quiet duplex shared by our other unit the Piping Plover.
Our property has a second building for a total of four units. Building two has the White Pelican and the Laughing Gull. Maximum capacity is 6 people including children.

What a beautiful cottage, so comfy, fresh, up to date and well appointed, and the host was fabulous. Our son and his family enjoyed staying here. It is truly minutes from the beach (our 3 yo granddaughter had no problem walking to it), plus they were able to enjoy all that Manasota Key has to offer. The screened lanai was so large and comfortable plus there was everything a young family would need to enjoy a day at the beach. There will definitely be repeat visits!

We had an incredible stay at the oyster catcher. All of the beach supplies made our travel from Texas that much easier. We use the bikes and kayaks daily. The house was beautiful and clean, and we really appreciated the welcome basket of goodies. Jen was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay there longer!

Absolute perfection!

We stayed 4 nights at this absolutely beautiful property. The home was clean, bright, homey and welcoming. We rode the bikes to and from the beach twice a day (2-3 minute ride)d loved both indoor and outdoor spaces at the unit. We will DEFINITELY book again!

Our family of four had a fantastic stay at this condo. It was incredibly clean and had wonderful amenities. We loved the kayaks and bikes. The location was perfect and the beach access was close by. We look forward to booking here again!

A Perfect Stay - Beyond Expectations

This property truly exceeded all expectations! The house was spotless and beautifully decorated, with all the conveniences you could need. Thoughtful touches, like snacks and a bottle of wine, made us feel incredibly welcome. We loved the outdoor space and screened-in patio, perfect for relaxing. Great location —within easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants, yet peaceful and quiet. The hosts were exceptional, with excellent communication and an impressive renovation after the 2024 hurricane damage. They didn’t miss a single detail. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Beach House with many extras!

We loved this beach house and can't wait to return. We flew to Florida with minimal items to avoid extra luggage costs and they had thought of everything you would need for a great time enjoying the ocean - coolers, sand toys, beach cart, umbrellas, etc. My favorite were the bikes and kayaks though!

Family Vacation

Our family of 3 stayed at the Shorebird property and it is as advertised. Cozy and clean with all the amenities. Close to beaches and with the use of kayaks and paddleboards as part of the stay I would highly recommend. Hosts were great and answered any questions very quickly. We would definitely stay again!

Beach lovers dream

Perfect spot for our girls trip. Only needed snacks, sunscreen, and ourselves. The house is a short walking distance to the beaches and restaurants. All beach necessities are thought of and the outside showers, grills, and patio are perfect for a relaxing night.

Perfection!

Oyster Catcher at Shorebird is a must stay! From The second we arrived, everything was 5 star! So many amenities and well thought out information. Bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, games… never needed anything in addition to what was provided. We appreciated the snacks, bottle of wine, stocked supplies - even down to sunscreen. Our girls trip to Manasota Key was just what we needed. We loved the enclosed porch and the privacy that the cottages offered. We will for sure be back! Our first (and not last) stay was amazing! Thank you for your attention to detail to make guests feel so special and welcomed!

Just Perfect

This property set the tone of our spring break vacation. It was a girls trip/spring break for my high school senior and her BF. I invited a long time girlfriend. The cottage was well decorated, simple but perfect in it's space. We spent most of our time outside on our screened in porch and around the fire pit. What really put it over the top for us was the beach amenities, ie: beach chairs, cart, kayaks, beach toys etc. Everything was quality and well taken care of. Location was great!... Situated between Stump Pass Park (which is a must!) and the restaurant/bars. Easy walks to the beach. We would definitely stay there again. I wouldn't even look for another property. BTW - it was our first time on Manisota Key and we loved it!

Just Book It!

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage had everything we needed and then some. Updated and clean; well stocked with towels and linens and kitchen stuff. Loved the outdoor amenities as well. We will be back!

Perfection in every way!!

My family has wanted to come to Manasota Key for many years and I am so thankful we found Shorebird!! We stayed here with 17 people, we all agreed that this was perfect and met all needs for our large group. Upon arrival the snacks and wine were a huge hit! Right away we felt welcomed and at home. We were able to put the bags down and walk a few blocks to the beach. We loved the location, so safe and quiet, just minutes away from the beach which allowed us to walk back and forth with ease. The added beach amenities were amazing, from the carts, to the chairs, umbrellas, shark tooth hunting tools, boogie boards, bikes, kayaks- Jen and Eddie thought of every last detail to make going to the beach fun and easy! We really loved that there were so many kitchen items that really helped cooking for 17 people so much easier- it was also so handy having the little kitchen items like lunch baggies and foil, very impressive touches. We also all loved the outdoor shower- it made it so handy to get clean after a day at the beach. We used the BBQ area every night and utilized the screened in porches and outdoor seating. Everyone slept very comfortable in the nice beds. It was an added bonus to have laundry access right there at the house. The kids looked forward to boogie boarding each night at sunset in the warm waters of the Gulf We felt so welcomed right away and Jen and Eddie were very fast to respond to messages. Thank you so much for making a memorable stay for our family!

Great cottage!

This is a super cute cottage with lots of amenities for both enjoying yourself at the beach or staying cozy at the cottage. We loved the screened in porch and the fire pit, and the beach cart was so helpful for the short walk to the water.
