Dragonfly-Cottage-Waterfront i Elk Rapids

Dragonfly er beliggende i Elk Rapids ved Bass Lake og er et charmerende hyggeligt sommerhus plus gæstehus der byder op til 6 gæster velkommen. Dette er en lør-lørdag ugentligt om sommeren. Nogle korte ophold kan være tilgængelige. Korte ophold skal bekræftes via vores kontor. Beliggende lige i den maleriske by Elk Rapids på østsiden. En sød placering, der er sikker på at behage. East Grand Traverse Bay ligger kun få minutter herfra. Shorts Brewery er også rundt om hjørnet.

Stuen er væk fra køkkenet og har et smart-tv med direkte tv. Uden for køkkenet på søens side er et lukket verandaområde, et perfekt sted til morgenkaffe. Hovedhuset har 2 soveværelser og 1 bad. Begge soveværelser har en queensize-seng. Pensionatet har også en queensize-seng og badeværelse. Sengelinned og håndklæder er inkluderet. Træd ud verandaen til et rummeligt dæk med et perfekt område at slappe af og grille. Pensionatet ligger kun få skridt fra hovedhuset. Der er også et separat vaskerum på bagsiden af hovedhuset. 1 velformet kæledyr er velkommen.

Udendørs er et stort græsplæneområde, der går ned til dit eget private sted på søen. Du kan sidde på dækket og se børnene lege i søen. Der er et ildsted placeret tæt på vandet. Masser af udemøbler og en grill afslutter komforten til udendørs sjov. Gåafstand til købmand og et par restauranter. Fredelig kvarter er et perfekt sted at komme væk fra det hele. ELk Rapids er ca. 20 minutter til Traverse City. Kewadin er 10 minutter.

Short and sweet

Our stay was a short one. Waking up to be able to go fishing or swimming was wonderful. Then close to other bigger beaches and Shorts was great fun. Place is very quiet -after 10 pm when things shut down.Call of the loons is a great lullaby.

Cozy and relaxing

This property had everything we needed for our family trip. We really enjoyed the lake and the large yard. The house was very cozy and comfortable. We had everything at the house to make great memories on a family vacation.

Bass Lake In Elk Rapids.

Lovely stay - very nice and quiet, exactly what I was looking for attending a work conference in Traverse City - gave me a space to get away and enjoy in peace...even had some colleagues over for an evening around the campfire and we all agreed it was much better than booking hotel rooms and spending $$$ on high-end dinners - this was a better experience for me. Everything about the process was smooth. I had read comments about musty-ness in the property and was a little concerned. While there is a slight bit I detected when I walked in, it's nothing to be concerned about whatsoever. Walked in and literally said "it's a cottage - this is exactly what I was anticipating". Enjoyed the stay very much. Thank you.

Little things

It is a small very sweet little place. Right on the water. Was throughly enjoyable for the 2 of us and our Lab. (Who enjoyed the water and ducks). My only thing is….please maybe leave instructions for the TV. And, put more lamps in. Brighter light bulb in kitchen. Maybe even night lights around? Got a tad dark at night and trying to find the bathroom was a tad hazardous.

Fishing trip

Nice location

This place is cute, but man does it smell musty. I figured this would be the case given the other reviews, but wow. Definitely don’t suggest staying here unless you can keep some windows open. There’s clearly an issue with ventilation here. Too bad because it is honestly a cute spot and very well located. Otherwise, it’s fine. The master bed could use a replacement mattress or bed frame, we ended up using the other bedroom for this reason, which was fine just something to note if you toss and turn like I do, it’s loud. The WiFi connection was good enough for light streaming, our phones and working, so that was nice. The backyard area is very nice, it was too cold for us to use it much, but it’s kept up very well, I could see this being a great hang out spot in the summer. Another suggestion, and this may have been listed somewhere and I missed it, but label the wall switches. There are switches that control certain outlets in different places, super confusing when you first arrive and you’re trying to the get the heat going (because yes, there is a switch that controls the outlet the furnace unit is attached to). I’d also suggest looking into a new cleaning company, whatever their standards are, they’re mediocre at best. All in all though, it was fine enough for a weekend, I wouldn’t book it for anything longer than that, though, unless they can get the smell thing figured out.

Great service, cozy environment

We were very impressed with the responsiveness of the management staff. A hiccup with the wifi password and a question about the heater were resolved quickly and thoughtfully. The location - right on the lake - was great (esp because our dog loves to swim) but also for just looking at. Great location.

Not worth it

I don’t feel that the property was cleaned well. There was mold in the shower and the closet reeked of mold and must there was sand on the couches. For the price of the cleaning service I was charged, it should be way better. Also, the rental permit displayed expired two years ago. No instructions to turn on air and the fans are coated in dust.

Disappointed

The place was conveniently located. The major problem was upon entering the place it wreaked of mildew/mold. Apparently the owner knows of this issue as there were dehumidifying items all around, they are not working. We really could not enjoy our stay due to the stench. I realize it was less expensive than others but it is a health hazard & should not be allowed as a rental until repaired.

Great House and Location

Our stay was great and the house was wonderful. However, the lack of information in regards to there being no A/C at this house was unfortunate; such information should be up front. But the weather was perfect so it fortunately was not needed for the stay. Wifi was difficult so we did not hook to it as there was 10 different things with different information. All in all we enjoyed the stay and would go back, but better instructions would definitely help.

Perfect up north getaway

This cabin was the perfect long weekend getaway! The house had enough place for 4 people and a picturesque backyard and view of the lake. The grill and fire pit was a fantastic amenity to be able to roast s’mores and burgers all weekend. The location was walkable to all the local places and a quick drive to traverse city. The house was clean, easy to check in, had enough basic amenities, the beds were comfy, the Wi-Fi was fast. I’d love to come back to this property.

Nice lakeside get away

We enjoyed a few days at the dragonfly. We were able to go hiking in Leelenau, shopping in Traverse City, catch a sunset across the way in Elk Rapids and have our dogs with us at the house. I recommend the Happy Camper coffee shop downtown-great coffee, best hot chocolate and amazing views.

Perfect Getaway

The house was perfect for my girlfriend, dog and I. The property is taken care of and clean. The back yard is large with beach access to bass lake, we used the kayaks provided with the house rental and the water is clear and not deep off the shore. The backyard was perfect for playing games like bags/cornhole. We grilled every night and had a fire with both are provided with the rental. Also, a really nice patio set and chairs by the fire pit. One night we stayed in and use the kitchen table to play card games. The kitchen is perfect for the couple of days and has a oven, large fridge and freezer. The bath looks out into the backyard and has a stand in shower. Then two bedroom which were clean and comfortable. In the living room is a large tv and sofas ( we didn’t even tv on once). Fans were provided because the place does not have A/C but we had no issues. This location is close to downtown elk rapids which is adorable and has a wonderful public beach “memorial park” which is connected to the traverse City bay which is crystal clear. Then you are only a short drive to elk lake and about a 15 minute drive to Torch lake sandbar. Torch lake is incredible and this house was perfect for the trip. It’s close to so many things.

Nice place

Place was nice and for the most part clean. Great location and access to the pier and use of the Kayaks were a nice bonus. There was some mold in the bathroom shower that should be cleaned. Also yard is full of goose poop. Maybe this is common for the area but it made the yard kind of unusable. I would recommend this place and would also rent again.

Overall good experience - convenient location to grocery store and local beach. Grocery store is big and should have anything you need and it’s only 2 blocks away. The Local restaurant is only 1 block away and has good food. We went for breakfast the one morning. Property had 2 kayaks and Wi-Fi which was a nice surprise as those weren’t listed on property description. Bass lake isn’t a lake for swimming, but since you are just a couple minutes from the public beach it’s not a big deal unless you are expecting to swim on the Dragonfly property. We enjoyed kayaking in the morning, though. Recommend going to Elk Lake or Torch Lake. Both have really nice water and great for water activities. The geese were frequent visitors on the property and so there was quite a bit of geese poo, but that was probably my only con.

Cute little cottage on the lake!

We loved our stay at the Dragonfly! A cute, clean cottage right on the lake. We loved the kayaks that were available to us and the guest house added extra room and privacy for others staying with us!

Cute spot

Cute house close to downtown Elk Rapids. House was clean, updated, and had lots of extra amenities. Beds were very comfortable. The yard was spacious but the lake access area was full of dead weeds and trash which was disappointing. Also didn’t like the house being so close to the street and neighbor, which isn’t shown in the photos. Major issue with checking in as the cleaning service was behind. Check in was 4pm and we didn’t have access to the house until close to 6pm - not ideal with a dog and a baby in the car. Rental agency didn’t seem very concerned or apologetic and didn’t try too hard to make things right. Overall nice house in a nice location.

Dragonfly review

This rental could use some real cleaning. There were some parts of this rental that seemed to never have been cleaned, under the beds, around the bathroom vanity floor, dirty mattress pad, mold around the shower control in the main cottage to mention a few. A strong musty odor, also. The location was great. Nice lake view with kayaks and life jackets provided. A market was a block away and a restaurant within walking distance. Stayed Aug. 1-5, 2020.
