Small rooms, good location, clean and good service
Location was good and in walking distance of old town etc. Rooms were really small but nice and clean. Breakfast area was quite cozy and the breakfast was ok. Would definitely stay there again if in town for a couple of days, but not for a longer stay with a lot of luggage! There are no lifts in the building.

Godt ophold i Edinburgh
Man skal være opmærksom på at hotellet ikke har elevator, så er man gangbesværet, skal man have værelse i stueplan. Super morgenmad !!

Jeg kunne lide hele miljøet omkring hotellet. Det er i den gamle del af Edinburgh. Det ENESTE, jeg ikke kunne lide, var kaffen til morgenmaden. Den var rædselsfuld. Beliggenheden ligger I nærheden af St. George's Street, hvor Edinburgh University har til huse.

Godt og komfortabelt hotel med god morgenmad.
Hotellet var dejligt komfortabelt og rent. Personalet var venligt og hjælpsomt. Morgenmaden var super god og rigelig. Der var langt op på 4. etage (uden elevator) efter at have gået meget i Edinburgh. Vasken i badeværelset er meget lille og sidder ret højt oppe, men sengen er komfortabel, og varmesystemet fungerer upåklageligt. Det kan anbefales at tage en taxa fra stationen, hvis man tager lufthavnsbussen frem og tilbage til lufthavnen. Taxa-prisen er meget rimelig, og det kan være hårdt at gå med kufferterne til hotellet, som ikke er langt væk, men det går meget opad, og belægningen på fortovene er meget ujævn.

Location, staff, room and breakfast is really good. Personally I think it was a bit noisy outside in the mornings and also a bit warm in the rooms and the only way to cool room down is opening the window.

Meget centralt med udsigt over Arthurs Sear. Meget søde og hjælpsomme personale. God morgenmad. Eneste minus er der ikke er elevator.

Prismæssigt køber man katten i sækken.
Billederne fra hotelværelserne er lidt for positive i forhold til virkeligheden. De er for små, prisen taget i betragtning. Da jeg rejste med mine forældre, som begge er over 70 år, og den ene dårligt gående, var det ærgerligt at konstatere, at der ikke er elevator, når man skal op på 3. eller 4. etage. Morgenmaden og betjeningen er der til gengæld intet at udsætte på. Her er alt hvad man kan ønske sig. Og det samme gælder beliggenheden, som er meget tæt på centrum og på gode spisesteder og shoppingmuligheder.

Et udemærket hotel tæt på mange seværdigheder.
Hotel Kenneth Mackenzie, er et udemærket hotel til prisen. Det ligger centralt og i gåafstand til mange attraktioner/seværdigheder fx. Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill, Mary Kings Close, The Edingburgh Dungeon og de forskellige Sightseeing/tur busser Personalet er søde og hjælpsomme. Morgenmadsbuffet er ok.

Perfekt sted til et par dages ophold i Edinburgh. Det er i gåafstand til alt i centrum. Der er dagligvarebutikker, restauranter og pubber i umiddelbar nærhed. Kaffe og te på værelset, og en fantastisk service fra personalet, og en morgenmadsbuffet, der er prikken over i´et. Eneste minus er at døren til værelset ikke er særlig lydtæt.

Universitets ophold
Små kollegie værelser der formentlig kun i skoleferien udlejes som hotelværelser for at få lidt ekstra penge i Universitets kassen. Bortset fra at det er småt med pladsen i både værelse og i særdeleshed på badeværelset, så fungerer alt som det skal og placeringen er helt perfekt til at udforske det centrale Edinburgh. Hotellet har ingen elevator.

Fasntastisk god morgenmad - den bedste på vores tur.
Alt fungerede fint, værelset pænt og rent, dog lidt småt. Stille og fredeligt. Det eneste problem var, at der ikke er elevator. Beliggenheden god med Holyrood Park lige uden for døren.

Værelse og badeværelse er småt, men o.k.. Efter pris og standard er morgenmaden meget flot. Man kan vælge flere varme retter og derved selv "komponere" sin egen "cooked scottish breakfast" ud over den kolde buffet.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tea selection and biscuits in the room were great. Bed was comfortable. It can be a little noisy with the windows open but generally a quiet area and around the corner from many restaurants and shops.

Perhaps there are different rooms available however our room was very small which we knew but very little space for suitcase etc. Dorm room for university of Edinburgh. There was no AC had to leave window open and they provided a fan. It was not hot this week in Edinburgh; it would have be stifling in the summer. No circulation in building at all. No elevator; we had to go up three floors with luggage. Would be challenging with mobility issues. On the positive side, great location, good breakfast which was included, excellent front desk staff. I booked through Expedia so maybe we got a lower end room. Cost for two nights in May 2024 a whopping $530 CAD. Edinburgh is expensive.

Our stay was good. We had a few issues with our room but Emma the manager was fantastic! Super attentive and caring and sorted out our room issue super quickly. A bottle of Prosecco and ice bucket was left for us when we returned which was fabulous. The other staff were so friendly, I believe his name is Keith, (sorry if it’s not!!) Was so funny, informative about the local area and super helpful which was fab. My only real complaint is that the windows are super thin so the room can get quite cold at night and it’s very noisey on the front side of the building due to the local businesses, but that’s no fault of the hotel. Other than that, the location was amazing and the bed was super comfy. Thanks again Emma!

Edinburgh short stay.
The hotel had a very studenty vibe as I believe it is run by Edinburgh university and was once student accommodation. The rooms are small but perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh. The rooms are clean and have been recently decorated. The breakfast was an absolute bargain, nothing fancy but really nice and a good quality coffee machine included. Overall the value for money was amazing and had a great stay.

Some good and not-so-good things. The best thing about the KM hotel was the invariably cheerful and helpful service desk staff. If there were two of them talking, they immediately stopped and asked how to help me. They also had a very good "Scottish breakfast," with varied foods on the buffet - and they were willing to cook eggs to order in the kitchen. From the web site, I thought I'd be paying extra for breakfast, but it turned out to be included in my total price. The location was wonderful if you're interested in seeing attractions at the heart of Edinburgh. There are a lot of things within easy walking distance. It was also a quiet neighborhood, which was good, because the windows were far from soundproof - I could easily hear normal street conversations. The room itself was a mixed bag. It was clean, well-organized, but the very very small and narrow size meant that the (comfortable!) king-size bed was only accessible from one side; the other was jammed up against the wall! Even the "accessible" side only had one foot clearance from the wall, and the location of coat hangers meant that you had to hit your head or duck even on your way to the bed. There were good wall lights for reading in bed, but they were not centered because of the window position, so the side of the bed NOT next to the wall got shortchanged. There was no door on the shower, so it was hard to avoid getting the bathroom floor wet. The sink was microscopic.

Clean and comfortable hotel in a central location
Comfortable and clean hotel in a central location in Edinburgh. A bit pricey for a basic room, but there may just be high demand in Edinburgh which inflates the prices. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.
