"The Grey Owl was a precious surprise! We (3 adults) had the best room, Melody's Roost, and it was spectacular! Stained glass decor, massage beds (!), a sleeper sofa with privacy screen--it's listed for 5 but it could sleep 4 adults and 2 well behaved small children on that sofa bed. The tub and shower in the master bath are epic. The room was quiet, and the grounds were gated so parking felt as secure as my home garage! Teresa greeted us and was so sweet! "We liked the pool, breakfast bar, laundry facilities and proximity to the beach. Lots of dogs in the hotel which was no issue to us, but might be for some. The set up in the king size suite was perfect for us; we didn't want to fight crowds on the 4th to eat out with two kids in tow so we went to Publix in Brunswick and got everything we needed for a eat in celebration. The fridge held all our food and the table, dishwater and dishwasher made it all easy. We enjoyed the easy walk to the beach...

The hotel is dated, and so are the amenities. The mood at the breakfast area was great, and the meal was ok, but we have had better at other budget hotels. The beds we're comfortable and the rooms very clean. Simply furnished, but we liked it. We had a great stay."
