The restaurant on the ground floor was always full of locals so you know the food is good. Everything you would expect from a local inn. Free, delicious chocolate chips cookies everyday!
Within walking distance of the Botanic Gardens and if you have a bike, the Peak District is also close by.

It is a beautiful old building, which has been thoughfully modernised inside.
Our room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower, with plenty of hot water. It was also surprisingly quiet, for being in a town, with the occasional call of a pair of tawny owls.
The staff were absolutely great, and very efficiently with their service.
Breakfast was superb, with a menu to suit everyone.
Don't be put off by the hotel not serving evening...

"Nice little hotel, conveniently near the airport. Friendly staff and good breakfast buffet. Wall-to-wall carpets makes you feel a bit back in time, but it's nice and cozy.
A bit weird with the elevator missing it's ground level button, so you have to walk down the stairs or call reception via a bell to get out. My suggestion would be to get it fixed."

"All was great, but I must say that the breakfast was not made that good. But it was a nice stay, and I would probably go here again.
The dinner was OK, I had fish and chips. The fish was a bit overcooked, and the chips were good on the outside but dry on the inside.
With slightly better food, this would be 5 stars for the price"
