1. Broken glass in the room:
After housekeeping had serviced our room, we discovered several small pieces of broken glass on the floor. Fortunately, we noticed this before anyone was injured. We immediately contacted the reception, and a staff member was sent to remove the glass. During our conversation with the hotel staff, we were offered a cup of coffee as compensation, which we declined, as we felt this did not reflect the seriousness of the safety issue. We suggested that a more appropriate gesture could have been, for example, tickets to the Burj Khalifa observation deck, but no alternative solution was offered.
2. False fire alarms:
The day before, the hotel’s fire alarm went off early in the morning, waking us and causing significant stress. It stopped shortly after, and we initially thought it was a false alarm. However, when we went back to sleep, the alarm sounded again about 15–20 minutes later and continued uninterrupted for a long time. We had to go downstairs to confirm that it was again a false alarm. This incident disrupted our morning and caused considerable inconvenience and distress.
The hotel never answered our mail with our concerns.
