"Modest room. Poor communication with hotel, you have to carry up your luggage a flight of stairs. Good to know if you’re brining hiking gear. Pillows were the worst I’ve ever tried. Like lumps of stone, all too hard and the foam as dissolved into rock formations in the pillows, given you an uneven way to rest your head. Ruined Christmas. Would not come back. Room was clean though. Bought a coffee the day after downstairs and the ladies were too busy laughing and gossiping with the locals instead...

"A very cosy house right in the heart of Fort Augustus. The living room was lovely with the fireplace, though we forgot to ask for more firewood and it got a bit cold at night. It was very peaceful—I think we were the only guests! The room is small if you're travelling with luggage, but very comfortable and warm. The bathroom was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was basic but decent."

"It was a great stay in Loch Ness Gate House Apartment. There is very clean and spacious. Both the bedroom are very big. The king and queen bed are very comfortable. The decoration is also very tasteful. The best is the open kitchen. All cooking utensils are fully equipped, including salt, oil, sugar and dishwasher. "We had the most delightful stay at the Whispering Pines Hotel. Spotless hotel with delightful and polite staff. The night was very stormy but we felt warm and cosy and despite the numerous times the electricity cut out the generators kicked in and we were back on with power with no fuss. My only criticism is the meal prices were way too high and the choices were too limited"
