Cozy cabin 8 minutes from Ark Encounter!!

This is a cozy little cabin just 8 minutes from the Ark. It has a loft with two twin beds, and a bedroom with vaulted ceiling and queen bed. It has a full kitchen (with all dishes included), as well as a full bathroom. Note that the wide angle lens used to capture the images of the inside of the cabin make it look slightly larger than it is.

The cabin is situated near the top of the property, which slopes down hill for 8 acres and ends at Boltz Lake. Guests are welcome to explore down to the lake and enjoy the beautiful nature scenery. Fishing is permitted at the lake with a fishing license that can be obtained at Walmart just 1.5 miles away. Within a short drive, a dock amd boat ramp are located on the opposite side of the lake. The property is in one sense secluded but, at the same time, only minutes from town and the highway.

Deer, ground hogs, and rabbits live on the property. We would love for you to enjoy them, while not scaring them! : )

All soaps, shampoos, blankets, linens, towels, and such are provided freshly cleaned for each guest. (We have put a lot of research into our linens. We do not think you will be disappointed in them.)

We are making available a $40 discount to anyone who would like to do their own cleaning. We have learned from our first cabin that our guests are almost always very clean. So, we thought we could offer to pass some savings off to our guests in this way. If you are interested in this, just mention it and we will send you the details, but, in short, you take the cabin as it was left by the last guests, changing your own linens out and any other cleanup you wish to do. We are seeking ways to keep our costs down for those guests who deem it worthwhile.

Also, the Creation Museum is 40 minutes away, and between the Creation Museum and the cabin is Big Bone Lick State Park. The Cincinnati zoo and other attractions are also around.

As a side recommendation, if this is your first visit to the Ark Encounter, we do recommend more than a day, if you are able. The Ark is so large, it can be overwhelming to take it all in in a day.

The owners thought of everything that could be needed to make our stay here effortless and peaceful. Jonathan communicated early and often and provided detailed information. It would have been easy to stay on the porch and just enjoy the views and quiet!!

We enjoyed our stay at this tiny cabin. We were in town for the Ark Encounter and it was perfect for our family of four the two nights we stayed. Location was great. Jonathan was very quick to respond to all of our needs and questions. (If I could suggest one thing to add, it would be a lamp in the bedroom for reading). Would definitely recommend this cabin.

We came down to see the Arc and to visit our son at UK. This is a beautiful hide away. Nothing fancy but rustic! Clean. It has all you need. Beautiful views!

This property should be advertised with “sleeps 2 adults & 2 children”. The loft has 2 twin mattresses on the FLOOR with 12” to 30” headspace from the ceiling while laying down. Also, there is no more than 35” clearance from the top of ladder to ceiling. The stairs are really steep… again, suitable for children, but not for adults.

Great little cabin for our two night stay! Host communication was great- easy check in. We used this cabin to experience the Ark :) would recommend- for littles the loft was a highlight for our kids- However just needed supervision up and down the stairs

Excellent place. The owner is out of town so you have to communicate with them before you arrive to make sure you get all the entry information.

ProsOur family stayed here to be close to the Ark Encounter and that absolutely met expectations! Kitchen is pretty well equipped with dishes. ConsYou would not be able to cook anything elaborate here as there are not big enough pots etc. I'm sure that's not important to a lot of people, but if you prefer cooking to eating out, this wouldn't be your place.There is no TV at all.There are 2 mini fridges instead of a regular sized fridge. The one we had milk in froze the milk. The single bathroom is tiny with barely enough room to turn around in the shower much less shave your legs. A larger person would have a hard time showering.The loft has no head room at all which looked a bit different to me online, but our 12 year old daughter slept fairly comfortably up there. I wouldn't recommend the loft for sleeping any adults.We couldn't figure out how to properly work the portable heater in the bedroom and I woke up sweating nightly.All in all, the cabin was neat, orderly and met our needs for a place to sleep close to the attractions we wanted to visit.

This cabin was perfect for our family who was visiting from Louisiana. We had a family of five and we slept comfortably. The host accommodated us very well. The cabin was very well stocked with everything we needed couldn’t ask for a better host would definitely recommend.

Nice little cabin. Fit our needs for an alternative to motel close to Ark Encounter. Pleasant country setting, but not too far from highway and restaurants, stores if needed. Be nice place for small family that likes cabin setting.

Our twin 9-year-old grandchildren said this was a fantastic vacation & loved their loft bedroom. Close to The Ark Encounter, Whispering Woods Horseback riding, & The Creation Museum. Also only half hour to Cincinnati airport.

We enjoyed our stay. Jonathan was great to work with and very friendly. We chose this location for being close to the Creation museum and Ark encounter. The site is still under construction, but was not a hinderance. We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and peaceful. The camp sity is under construction

We stayed at the cabin for three nights with our two boys and they loved it. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful hills and a pound at the bottom of the hill. We took a walk every morning and we cooked fresh food every day. Inside the cabin was clean and comfortable. It was close to the Ark too.

Cozy cabin perfect for a family stay. We visited the Ark and it was such a quick and easy drive. Food places located on the same road out of the cabin. Our kids loved the 2 beds in the loft area. We absolutely loved the added touch of the wooden rustic “In God we trust” wall hanging rack in the bedroom, as well as the white noise machine. We had a concern come up, and the host went above and beyond to not only make it right but make sure that everything worked out and was fixed for us, even though it wasn’t his fault at all. The communication and responses were a 10/10. It was our first time to Kentucky and we would definitely consider staying here again in the future if we were coming to Kentucky.

Great cabin & stay. Loved most everything about it, except 2 things. One major, one minor. Major issue was almost no hot water at all - had to take cold showers - which family didn't enjoy. Would highly recommend the owners repair or replace hot water heater. That cost them the 1/2 point - otherwise we would've given 5 stars. Minor issue while there are 2 mini-refrigs, there was only 1 "baby" ice cube tray in total. We'd highly recommend that the owner buy 4 full-sized ice trays [2 for each refrig] & maybe ice bucket(s) for the freezer(s).
