"The room was clean and spacious. Kitchen area included a full sized refrigerator, a dishwasher, a stove, and a microwave. The king-size bed was comfortable. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage and pulled pork, cubed potatoes cooked with peppers, cereals and milk, yogurt, coffee, muffins, breads, etc. We were not informed when we reserved the room that parking was $25 each day. The parking area is surrounded by a fence. Parking is accessed at a gate activated by a keypad keycode."

"We have always stayed here when in Birmingham, and this was the first time we were disappointed. Our bathroom was not cleaned well at all… empty toilet paper roll, fingerprints and water spots all over the bathroom mirrors, dirty shower glass, and mildew on some of the shower grout. Then the next morning, they no longer have the restaurant available for breakfast. They have a coffee shop available, and suggest you walk next door to the Sheraton. The staff that was working were all very friendly."

"Overall, our stay was pleasant, and most aspects of the accommodation met our expectations. However, there were a few issues that affected our experience. Upon entering the bathroom, there was an unpleasant odor coming from the shower area. Additionally, our room was located on the second floor, and the shower did not provide any cool or cold water—only very warm to hot water was available, which made showering uncomfortable. "System was down and waited 4 hours for check in. Was offered water while we waited. Checked into handicapped room at 11pm and electric blinds did not work requiring piling pillow up to block sun, exposed wires everywhere, filled holes in walls with patchy painting, poor customer service to resolve an awful check in"

"One elevator was out of order and the other's inspection certification expired 11 months ago (June 2025). I emailed the state inspector as this is incredibly unsafe."

"The staff was wonderful!!! Very helpful and hard working! The hotel itself is old, and the decor is a little weird, with a lot of pics of vials and pharmacy related things. Just a bit strange. The room was great, but just an old property."
