"It is, like its names tells, a great hotel, one of Indias oldest. The rooms - bathrooms, has a great size, the hower 'room', was great marble floor with black stones and rainy water coming out. Large Tv with international news, among them my favourite ( I am not a religious person - coming from Denmark), Al jazzera in English - for years I have thought it is the the most - if any - objective News station. The Breakfast Buffet is huge - I wish the western bread was more frersh though. Staff...

"Property is good. We stayed here quite a few times. In the last visit I noticed the attending staffs keep standing there for tips which is awkward. One of them actually asked for it which is rare in such high priced properties."

"VERY comfortable hotel in a good location. Especially the sound-insuation of the windows is fantastic. You can not hear any street sound at all. And the entry is practical when You arrive in a taxi because the luggage-unload area is far away from the busy street. Further, the hotel is very close to the metro station Park Street making sightseeing in Kolkata real easy."
