Sometimes all you need is a waterfront vacation, and all your problems are gone. This freshly updated canal-front retreat with brand new dock, new lighting, and upgraded interiors has enough space and provides enough comfort for family trips or a getaway with friends. Ideally, you'll be located within the Holiday Isle community, which offers gated access to a gorgeous Emerald Coast beach just one block away.

With a 40-foot boat slip, this retreat offers enough room to lay up your large yacht alongside a lengthy dock. It's also perfectly situated, boasting an incredibly long view looking down the canal and the Destin Harbor. Pack your newest swimming suit and enjoy a refreshing splash in the private outdoor pool - the pool area has plenty of seating and loungers to enjoy the sun and get your daily vitamin D dose. Enjoy a thirst-quenching juice or cocktail in the shaded lounge area, or surprise your friends with a delicious barbecued meal thanks to the on-site gas grill.

Inside, the home offers a spacious open floor plan. The living area features a cozy C-shaped sofa in front of a TV and a small coffee table in the center. The adjoining kitchen is complete with stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher for easy post-meal clean-up. The dining table seats up to six people comfortably, and additional dining space can be found on the island with four chairs and an adjoining high table with four extra stools.

All bedrooms are equipped with TVs, and the spacious main bedroom has access to a private balcony and an en suite bathroom. There is a separate apartment with a private bedroom, a full bathroom, a living/dining area with a dining table for four and a TV, and a well-appointed kitchenette with a mini-fridge, Keurig coffee maker, sink, and microwave.

Dock details: 40 FOOT BOAT SLIP
3 days notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD 80 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool heat for your stay.


Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Great location, pool was very clean and boat slip was perfect. There were no lights that worked down stairs outside so hard to see at night. When we first entered downstairs room, it had a strong smell like mothballs, a few dead bugs in down stairs bathroom. Also didn’t like how the downstairs room wasn’t connected to the rest of the house. The dryer didn’t work, so we had to hang towels to dry. Despite these few things, our stay was amazing. when we were unable to find an iron and board, we contacted the agency and someone delivered one the next day. We would stay in it again for the location and great price.

June Family Vacation

I stayed at New Kids on The Dock from June 14-June 21 with my 2 children, my husband, and some of our extended family. The house was perfect! The little pool was so nice after a day at Crab Island, my kiddos fished off the dock, the view is gorgeous from the swimming pool/deck side, and we used the outdoor grill several times! The neighborhood is quite, with a very short walk to a private beach, which is gorgeous as well. Location is amazing, a very short car or boat ride to the Harbor Walk. We had an amazing time and made lasting memories!

Dirty.They need to hire new management. House had bloody towels under couch, glass around pool, trash in yard, downstairs smelled (like mold) and it hadn’t been cleaned at all (also not accessible unless go outside), not equipment with kitchen supplies ( we purchase frying pans and storage containers ). Bathroom supplies: we requested more towels and wash clothes on day 1, after waiting for 2 days we had to purchase on our own. When a house says it has availability for 8 make sure equipped with enough for every person to have a towel, plate, or cups. We also had purchase disposable kitchen supplies because there wasn’t enough for everyone.. View was beautiful, quite neighborhood but definitely not what description says.

Great property that needs someone to care for it

It's clear that someone once cared for this property, but it's slowly fading into disrepair. The deck/stair slats were loose, the air conditioning downstairs broke, and most of the tvs didn't work. The curtains popped off the wall, and we had to fix the hot water heater ourselves. There was trash by the pool and hair in the shower drain. While we loved the location, loved having our own boat dock, and really loved the stuff that worked, the management company is really bad. It took days to fix the dangerous deck, stair, and dock boards and the AC was never repaired. We stayed in August, so this made the entire downstairs completely unusable, which meant that two of our party had to sleep on the living room floor, which sucked. It would be hard for me to rent from Vacasa again. There's no local contact, it takes days to get anything done, and they don't seem to do proactive maintenance at all.

Week at New Kids on the Dock

The property itself so very clean and overall we enjoyed our stay. However, when we arrived there were overflowing trash cans with a terrible smell and the smell was even in the bottom floor of the property. It took 4 calls to the management company to finally get the garbage removed and it took 2 days. We were also told that we would be contacted by a manager and that never happened.

Disappointing

While the location was great, the house itself was a disaster. There was a horrible smell in the downstairs apartment. The management company did nothing to try to resolve the issue. Then the bathroom flooded since the drain pipe was not attached. They sent someone to repair it but didn’t clean up the mess! They left that for me to do. So basically no one could stay in the apartment, which left us without enough space for everyone. The dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes and the kitchen was poorly stocked with old inadequate supplies. I am very disappointed with Vacasa overall.

Nice House Bad Management

House was nice. Neighborhood is great, nice and quiet. When we arrived I had to make my own bed, clean the patio from old dried duck poop as best I could, arrange the pool chairs that were all jumbled together and turn the water hose off that was filling the pool. There also isn't a top deck over the boat slip that is in the pictures also. Noticed there wasn't a grill that was listed on the listing so started calling Vacasa. I called for 4 days multiple times a day and was on the phone for more than an hour each day trying to get a grill. Had to buy more food that could be cooked in the oven since we bought food to grill for our stay. The day before we left a nice gentleman brought us a grill. I contacted Chelsie who is the property manager and she said she would refund money for the extra food we had to buy because of this inconvenience, we checked out on the 6th of April and haven't heard anything back from her. Vacasa are not easy to get ahold of at all. This property was very nice but getting ahold of someone to help you is impossible.

Not worth the money

I would not stay here again, the price was too much for this rental. Maintenance was terrible. Grass was not cut around the entire property, bowls and cups found in skimmer of pool, we had to add chemicals and backwash. Cigarette butts on upper deck and around pool. TV’s did not work in 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Remotes were missing batteries. Dryer could not be run while home noise was too loud. This was reported and nothing done.

Could use some improvements

My overall impression of this property I would have to rate only ok due to the fact that on the first day we got there it had major plumbing issues. The master bedroom toilet did not work and came to find out shortly the bathtub and sink leaked straight downstairs to the bottom studio. So the master bathroom was totally out of service. The plumbers did fix the problem on our last day there. The dryer however worked but no heat so all our clothes stayed damp. Almost all the TVs did not work and if it did work you had very limited channels. None of them were smart TVs so no Netflix or Amazon Prime available. So needless to say no family movie night happened during our stay. Also the master bedroom fanlight did not work, not enough pillows or extra blankets and some of the sheets on the beds probably were not washed real well for there was hair on them. I tried to ask the vendor for some compensation for the bathroom and dryer inconvenience but haven’t heard from them. On a good note, the view of the canal was pretty and loved the boat slip and dock because of the access to the water, the pool we enjoyed and was our only entertainment, the kitchen was in working condition and the couch was amazingly comfortable. I would have given more stars on the rating had the master bathroom and dryer were in working condition.
