## Emplacement
Cuxac-d'Aude is a French commune located in the north-east of the Aude department in the Occitanie region. Historically and culturally, the commune is part of the Narbonnais, a region including Narbonne and its periphery, the Clape massif and the lagoon strip of ponds. Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is drained by the Aude, the Audié stream. The commune has a remarkable natural heritage: two Natura 2000 sites (the "lower course of the Aude" and the "Capestang pond") and three natural areas of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest. It belongs to the urban unit of Cuxac-d'Aude and is part of the catchment area of Narbonne. The architectural heritage of the commune includes a building protected as a historical monument: the church of Saint-Martin, classified in 1983 and registered in 1983.
