"Good hotel in a great location, very clean with friendly staff. I had altitude sickness, and the staff, especially Erica, went out of their way to help me through it. A nice bonus was that on the day we had to leave at 5 AM for an excursion, they prepared a breakfast box for us. On our last day, they also allowed us a late check-out (for a small surcharge), which was very convenient. The only downside was that, for some reason, the bathroom had a bad smell. You get breakfast served right to your room. It was highly convenient to local sites. Check-in was momentarily confusing because there are 2 doors, but it was quickly figured out. "The people at sol del oriente are some of the kindest staff ive ever met. They were super punctual and always happy to lend a helping hand. Big shoutout to darlene and juan-carlos for their hospitality! The only cons I have are of the room, the rooms are definitely showing ageing and water pressure and water temperature were an issue. However, at the end of the day, the room was still fairly comfortable and very affordable. Absolutely amazing proximity to wanchaq station."

"Morgenmaden var acceptabel, men to af nætterne vi var der var der inden vand i bygningen så man kunne ikke bruge toilet eller bad eller lign. Værelset var så dårligt isoleret at man lige så godt kunne fjerne vinduerne samtidig med at der ikke var en ordentlig aircondition så det blev hundekoldt om natten. Kun en venlig ansat “Isac” kunne ordentligt engelsk alle andre forstod ingenting af hvad man sagde. Gulvet på værelset var ved at falde sammen når man stod på det, det larmede og var så skævt...

"Casa Cristobal Centenario is a great place to stay. It’s about 10 to 20 minutes maximum walk to plaza de armas. Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast is amazing.
If you plan a tour most of the companies pick you up from the hotel, but keep in mind that they tend to drop you off in the central area like plaza de armas.
If you use Inka Rail to go to Macchu Picchu you can also walk to the train station.

"Very friendly and service minded staff. I needed to bath my foot every day and they willingly found a bucket and brought boiling water to the room every night. The hotel is generally a bit cold. However, it did have hot water in the shower, which has not been a given at the hotels we have stayed at in Peru.
The kitchen chef was also very nice and prepared freshly cut fruit for us upon her own suggestion.
It is a 7-10 minute Uber ride away from the historical center, which cost 8 soles when we visited. "
