The Space:

8 Farm Macadamia Plantation 2 by Tiny Away sits in the heart of Cumbalum, just 22 minutes from Byron Bay and its famous Main Beach and Tallow Beach. This tiny house puts you in the thick of a working macadamia plantation with valley views stretching north and a plantation-scattered path leading to a hidden lake.



Just 10 minutes from Ballina Byron Airport, it’s your convenient nook near nature’s attractions—Minyon Falls roaring after rain, Whian Whian Falls carving through the forest, and the Byron Bay Lighthouse catching the first light of day.



A comfortable 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).



IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we also have a second tiny home, “8 Farm Macadamia Plantation 1,” available with 24 hours' notice in advance. The distance between the two tiny houses is 35 metres



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the tiny home and its immediate surroundings. They can explore the property, except for the main house and machinery shed. The chicken coop, olive grove, and vegetable garden are open for visits, but guests should avoid touching them.

A burgeoning estate in Ballina Shire, 8 Farm Macadamia Plantation 2 by Tiny Away offers a cozy stay amidst expansive macadamia orchards. Just 22 minutes from the vibrant coastal town of Byron Bay, this location provides a distinctive rural charm and coastal proximity. Cumbalum serves as a perfect refuge for those seeking a laid-back lifestyle without the crowds. The plantation's setting offers guests an authentic experience of Northern Rivers living.​



Byron Bay offers some of the most beautiful natural spots in Australia. Main Beach, Wategos, and Tallow Beach are perfect for relaxing by the ocean. Just outside town, Minyon Falls in Nightcap National Park has stunning views and walking tracks through the rainforest. Whian Whian Falls is a quiet spot reached by a short walk, while Killen Falls features a swimming hole that is great for a dip or a peaceful break in nature.



The nearby parks are also worth exploring. Whian Whian State Forest is home to subtropical rainforest, making it an ideal destination for hiking and birdwatching. For sweeping ocean views, the Byron Bay Lighthouse, situated on Cape Byron, the easternmost point of mainland Australia, is a favorite spot for whale watching and sunsets.

- The nearest town is Ballina (8km).

- Byron Bay is 30km away.

- Accessible by 2WD.



By Public Transportation:



- No public transport available.

- Only accessible by private transport such as taxis.



By Flight:



- The nearest airport is Ballina Byron Gateway Airport, just 10 minutes away.

- From the airport, guests can take a taxi or private transfer to the property.



Other Things to Note:

- Wifi is not available

- Pets are not allowed

- No children is allowed

- Meals are available at an extra cost of $25 per guest, with a minimum of two orders.

- Firewood is available at $2 per piece. Complementary for the first 3 pieces. Lighter and pine cones will be provided free.

- Plant a macadamia tree, learn how to harvest and process nuts, package your own nuts and brings back as bespoke personalised gifts

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Mobile reception has good signals for all telco lines

- Smoking is allowed in designated areas of the property

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

- We have a Blue Heeler puppy and chickens on the property. Also, our neighboring farm has friendly cattle

- Having a working cattle dog on a farm is part of the experience of living on a farm. There are other potential hazards such as wildlife encounters, fire ants, mosquitos, cattle, magpies etc.

- For stays of 5 nights or more (or for bookings of 5 nights or more), an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
