This 270 ft covered bridge was built in 1921 and the only remaining bridge of it's kind in Cullman County. It was used mainly by farmers. It spans the Crooked Creek, site of Civil War Skirmishes under Nathan Bedford Forrest. Many relics have been found around this creek and can be viewed at the museum just down the road. This bridge is open to foot traffic and also offers picnic areas and walking trails. An old water mill is located on the property too. #roadtrip

"Barney’s Bluff was absolutely perfect for our end of summer get away! The spacious, well-equipped house was spotless and thoughtfully accommodating. The owner provided everything imaginable, from life vests and beach towels to dog bowls. We felt very welcomed and safe! My crew of five teens and two dogs had a blast making smores in the fire pit, playing games in the sunroom, and exploring the lake on the pontoon! We made great memories and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I can 100% recommend...

"This was probably one of the best places we have stayed. It was very clean and comfortable. They had everything you could ask for, including the little details like extra blankets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, smores kits, and even a waffle bar! There were plenty of activities for the kids to do: pool, ping pong, games, fishing, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked. The beds were comfortable. "Our stay was perfect! The entire house was very clean and welcoming! We loved that the kitchen is organized and well stocked (one of the special touches!) The location of the house is very convenient not only to town but also multiple restaurants and local shops if one doesn’t wish to drive into town. We enjoyed the outdoor space that has multiple decks (covered main deck & lower deck, and lakefront) and the enclosed backyard. We loved the personal touches, especially for pets!"

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Smith Lake home-It exceeded our expectations in every way! From the moment we opened the front door, we were impressed.
