"Food was exceptionally good with great choice. Staff pleasant and helpful."

"We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!"

"Staff could not have been more helpful. Home from home with super public areas and wonderful food. A gem we will visit again soon!"

"Food was good. Luxury room was not luxurious. Very small. Carpets on stairs need seeing to as are a trip hazard. Bar area, windows need a very good clean! Cobwebs and dust must have been there quite a while."

"First of all: Perfect serviceminded personel. Welcomed at the reception, Great service at the bar and dinner as Well the mands. Very attentive staff! The hotel is placed in beautiful landscape on the border of The Lake District. Only to recommend. "

"Beautifully decorated hotel with excellent food and helpful pleasant staff."

"This has to be the craziest room I've ever stayed in, in a good way. The floors were sloped the furniture was sloping in line with the floors. Bed comfy amd bathroom was nice and clean. If you are after a quirky stay then this place is for you."

"Met all our expectations, 10 years after our last stay. Perfect start to a long drive!"

The staff were very attentive, pleasant and efficient. The situation in the middle of the village ideal and parking on site, excellent. No dogs allowed on site which I am in favour of."

"Venlig vært, fremragende morgenmad, OK beliggenhed. Den ene seng var fyldt med sorte hår, støvet på værelset og flere stykker bestik var ikke rent bed morgenmaden og der var en brugt serviet på bordet. "

"The room was lovely & comfortable. The Evening meal was delicious. The only thing that let us down was the breakfast. It didn’t seem to be freshly cooked and wasn’t very hot & not very well cooked. A shame. If we stay again we will not pay extra for the breakfast."

"This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners. Kenny and staff have put together an eclectic playlist of songs that are ever present in the background but not so loud as to interfere with conversation. The entire staff works hard to...
