Laval offers a wide variety of activities: a commercial center, a medieval castle that houses the Museum of Naive Art, of which Rousseau, a Laval resident, is an emblematic figure. At Christmas, Laval is known for its illuminations, with the possibility of cruising on the Mayenne River. The Laval marina offers electric boats, kayaks, and bicycles for rent.
