Suite Basium in 1918 Liberty-Style Palazzo with Garden, Outdoor Tub, and Wi-Fi

Welcome to Palazzo Humilitas.



You are in the entrance hall of a historic building constructed in 1918 in Liberty style, built over a 16th-century farmhouse—remnants of the original plaster are still visible. The owner, a local doctor and member of a noble family, transformed it into a noble residence. Guests once arrived by carriage—marks from that era remain on the original floor—and later by car.



The beautiful columns in local white stone, the wrought-iron railings, and the staircase lamps all reflect the Liberty style.



Your suite, named Basium (Latin for "kiss"), is your private room. You’ll find a minibar, coffee maker, and traditional Salento almond biscuits. The room features manual blackout curtains on the door and chain-operated blinds on the windows. To lower them, lift the cord and pull gently.



The room overlooks the ancient garden, surrounded by bamboo canes dating back to the palazzo’s construction. The garden includes a small orange grove, a patio with an outdoor shower, and a bathtub crafted using the local cocciopesto technique, giving it a marble-like appearance.



The fixtures are in aged brass with hot and cold water. Night lights provide a relaxing atmosphere for warm summer evenings.



At check-in, if I cannot greet you in person, you will receive an access code to enter via the box next to the intercom.



For stays longer than a week, linen and towel changes are available for an extra fee, as are additional cleaning services for an extra fee.
