You’ll love your stay in our unique 3BR/3BA beach house at Lost Colony! We have some of the best Gulf views on the island, plus a deck for enjoying them. Stroll the private boardwalk to the beach. Or cool off at Lost Colony’s shared pool, just steps from your front door.

INSIDE THE HOUSE

Kick back and relax in our large living room, watch TV on the flat-screen with cable, and deal a game of cards at the adjacent dining table. Or cook full meals or pack snacks for the beach in the fully stocked kitchen, which includes all appliances.

This house sleeps nine comfortably across three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and its own private bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom is a bunkroom with a full-over-full bunk and a twin-over-twin bunk.

Two more baths make it easy for everyone to get clean after a day at the beach!

THE LOCATION

Everything you need for a relaxing beach getaway is here at Lost Colony. It’s about a 10-minute drive to downtown Port A – just far enough for peace and quiet. The Lost Colony boardwalk takes you right to an unpopulated stretch of beach, and the community pool is just steps away.

Things to Know

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices-not any personal conversation or information. Thank you for supporting our efforts to be good neighbors!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The property was great, my only small complaint was the lack of information on the listing around which floors the rooms were on. I think it would be helpful to list how many floors there are and which floor each room is on to know how many stairs would be needed to climb for each person in our party. The beach proximity was fantastic and the house was stocked perfectly to allow us to do everything needed. I'm not sure there are many properties in the Port A/Padre area that have such quick access to the beach, which is also a very low traffic stretch. We will definitely stay here in the future, it was great for our family.

Rustic beach house, well loved. This place has its bruises and blemishes but it’s comfortable and super close to the beach. Took us probably 2 minutes from front door to beach. There’s a small pool that’s plenty of fun for kids. Kitchen has just about anything you need to make and serve dinner, a nice sized sink and a couple ways to make coffee. Plenty of beds, my kids loved the bunk beds. Location is great, short drive to restaurants and other touristy things but far enough away you don’t have to fight with golf carts everywhere. 30 min drive to Texas state aquarium, 15 min drive to HEB, etc. Balcony and porch are great places to hang out and have a drink, listen to the waves. Yeah there’s some rust, some dings, some rubbed off paint on the baseboards and cabinets, none of these things affected my enjoyment. The only bugs I saw were all outside. The AC was cold, the internet worked but it would hiccup for a couple seconds here and there. The mattresses were a bit thin but I slept fine. The rental company responded quickly to all questions. My family had a blast and we plan to be back and stay longer.

Dirty/needs updates

Location and actual space was good. However, dirty. Shower upstairs needed cleaned, the top bunk beds had sand in the corners, the floors needed swept and mopped as well. Place also needs updates. Decking needs updated, along with paint, doors, etc. plus the power was out 12 of the last 24 hours we were there. No refund or anything when I asked. It was night outside. No back up generators or anything

Great rental, a few caveats

Excellent location on Mustang Island with a 5 minute walk to beach on a nice boardwalk. Views cannot be beat - over the dune to the waves. This is a group of individual 3-story houses closest to the beach, in a gated area, many family owned. House needs some TLC which may be why is it a lower cost than it's neighbors, but still a great rental. When you rent through VRBO, this links into another vacation rental system called Vacasa. The auto-generated Vacasa system was not a good experience - too many texts and when we had a small issue, we were requested to write up a ticket with photographs, etc. Not doing this while on vacation! But we also had the name of a real person who worked at Vacasa named Heather, and she solved our issue immediately, and was very helpful with other questions. Kitchen was well stocked with dish and cookware - but bring your own spices including salt.

Very Poor Management Company

Having recently stayed at a beach rental “Rock the Boat” in Lost Colony, Port Aransas, Tx, managed by Vacasa, I must express my deep dissatisfaction and warn prospective renters against entrusting their vacation experiences to this company or this owner. We stayed at the same unit last year and it was fine but apparently management got worse. My stay, intended as a romantic getaway to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, was marred by a series of egregious failures in both accommodation and customer service. Upon arrival at the property at 5:00PM (check in time was a very late 4:00PM), we were immediately greeted by an overpowering stench of insecticide, reminiscent of a chemical warfare zone. This nauseating odor permeated the air, suggesting a recent dousing with the likes of "Raid" or some other industrial-grade bug bomb. Not only was this olfactory assault deeply unpleasant, but it also posed a health risk to my wife, who suffers from sensitivity to such noxious fumes. Despite our discomfort, we soldiered on, opening windows and ventilating the space for hours in a futile attempt to mitigate the stench. Regrettably, our efforts yielded little relief, with one room remaining particularly pungent throughout our stay. As if the chemical onslaught weren't enough, our peace was further shattered the following morning by an unexpected visitor scaling a ladder to access our third-floor bedroom balcony. Startled from our slumber, my wife and I were confronted with the alarming si

Not Good

There was a roach infestation. The floors were filthy. A sink was backed up and full of water on arrival. The management was apologetic but the “local team” was not responsive. Took two days for them to come fix the sink. We deserve a sizable refund considering the kitchen wasn’t usable because roaches were crawling on the food prep surfaces. They did offer to fumigate DURING OUR STAY. I can see from past reviews they haven’t done anything about the roach infestation. Don’t stay here. There are other places that are managed by people who care.

Mostly Perfect Stay

Everything was in order and as described. Only thing we thought the kitchen was lacking: storage containers, prep bowls, serving dishes, ice trays/ice maker, baking sheets and updated small appliances. Other than that, great stay and even better views.

Bug problem

The kitchen has a major roach problem. We planned on cooking in the kitchen but didn’t feel comfortable cooking with the bug issue. Dead roaches in cabinets and live roaches came out on counters. We kept our food stores in fridge and coolers because we didn’t want roaches crawling on our stuff.

Nasty, filthy dirty AND roaches. Small , medium and Large

Was filthy dirty. Windows we had to clean ourselves just to see out of them. Kitchen was full of dirty sand EVERY WHERE. Also had filth on counter top and roaches. Sent pictures to Vacasa in which they responded only to confirmed they received but did nothing. Absolutely had not been disinfected. Since two of us came down with Covid when we got home!! Very disappointing. Would never stay there ever again..

Short Family Get Away

The location of the property was ideal. We had a wonderful view of the ocean from kitchen, living room and master bedroom. There was plenty of space for a family of four and pet. We were not able to utilize deck at night as the lights were not working, but that was not a necessity. We did have issues with bugs. There was a huge dead roach on stairs when we arrived and I had two visit me in the morning. Maintenance did spray while we were there, so that may have been what drew them out. If I could make some suggestions to improve he stay of future residents; extra coasters to use on the surfaces would be nice. We only found one. Extra kitchen trash bags, especially when having/ cooking every meal in the house, would be a nice addition, as well as either a broom or small hand held vacuum. I would like to have cleaned up the sand when we came back from the beach. Also, you may want to consider purchasing a new hose for the deck and fixing the gate so it shuts properly. Aside from the few minor things, we enjoyed the stay. The kids loved the bunk beds and being able to watch the pelicans from the deck.

Could have been a little cleaner

Sheets for one bed missing and it wasn't made. Called and was told they would find out and call me back, never happened. More details on what the kitchen offers for cooking, etc would be much more helpful so we wouldn't have to run buy something to use coffee maker and what are the available small appliances.
