6/10 Okay

Manage your expectations and you'll be fine
The good:
- Location (right across the bridge leading to the central area in Cork; short walk to most sites)
- Good service (attentive and helpful, gave us a lot of tips on really great activities and sites)
- Clean room
- Working lift; good for handicapped access (am not handicapped, but have been so I notice these things – however, please don’t take my word for it and call the hotel to verify; I’m not sure what I may have missed).
- Price – you probably won’t find anything this central for much cheaper
The bad:
- No private bathroom in most rooms; bathrooms are shared among many different rooms and have poor ventilation… so they smell really bad. Bathrooms are also okay for limited handicapped access, but only if the person has some mobility and maybe some help. Not sure how accessible the toilet/shower would be.
- Rooms are small and spartan
- Parking is limited to street parking or a lot that is a 5-10 minute walk
- Wifi in rooms is okay, but not the best
Conclusion: Manage your expectations. If you are okay with a private room in a hostel-like setting, this is a good option for you. For us, it was fine – nothing to really like or dislike. Just a small, basic, clean place to stay.
