Villa Alba Byron Hinterland - Pool & Valley Views

Welcome to Villa Alba, a luxury home set on 10 acres above the rolling valleys of Clunes in the Byron Hinterland. Wake to the sun rising as the mist drifts through the valley, swim in the infinity pool overlooking the hills, or spend long afternoons lunching under the Italian pergola before lighting the outdoor fire. The home offers pure relaxation and open plan living at its finest, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable get away.

Living and dining

The house is open-plan and made for gathering with family and friends. The kitchen, living and dining rooms run together and open onto the undercover terrace to the east and the Italian timber pergola to the north. You can open the 5m sliding doors to either area enjoying the entire space. There are natural timber beams overhead, an indoor gas fireplace set into a curved limestone wall, and a farmhouse table facing the valley. The house is air-conditioned and has Starlink, so it is easy to stay connected or work from here.

Outside you have many entertaining areas. Dive into the 10m infinity pool while looking out to the rolling green hills. There is an undercover outdoor lounge area and an open timber style italian pergola with a large dining table. A fire-pit is nestled between the two areas for colder winter nights.

Multi zone Sonos in ceiling speakers linked through the main areas of the house - main bedroom, kitchen and outdoor lounge area.

Kitchen

A true cook's kitchen with custom cream joinery, rose-veined marble benches, a generous island, a black and brass falcon oven and a butler's pantry. 3 x dishwashers. There are 3 bench seats around the island as well as an integrated fridge/ freezer and bar.

Bedroom 1: king bed with private Mediterranean garden, private sliding door and valley views

Bedroom 4: two single beds, or a king on request

All beds are made up with crisp white linen to a hotel standard. The layout suits 3 or 4 couples travelling together, or two family's with children.

Bathrooms

Two bathrooms in soft marble / limestone and brass, with a rain shower and a freestanding bath that looks out over the valley. All towels are provided.

Outdoor

The 10m infinity-edge pool and sun loungers look straight down the valley. There is an Italian pergola for long afternoons, and a fire pit on the lawn for evenings far from the city lights, where the Milky Way is easy to find.

Enjoy a long lunch under the Italian style timber pergola overlooking the hinterland valleys and infinity pool, or lounge on the outdoor covered area.

Interiors

Inspired by travel, the house is warm and timeless. Natural, raw materials work together throughout, and a French harvest tapestry hangs in the living room.

Guest access

We host 1 group at a time with a minimum stay of 3 nights, excluding Holiday periods. The house, pool and all 10 acres are yours to enjoy.

Neighbourhood

Clunes is a small green village in the hills behind Byron Bay. The Clunes Store is only minutes away by car and is well stocked with organic groceries and essentials / wine.

Villa Alba is close enough to the coast for a swim before lunch, and far enough away to enjoy the hinterland villages and peace and quiet.

The Eltham Hotel, a country pub built in 1902, is a 2 minute drive down the road. Bangalow's heritage main street, cafés and markets are 12 minutes away. Waterfalls and swimming holes at Minyon, Killen and Whian Whian are an easy drive. Wategos Beach and the Cape Byron lighthouse walk are 30 minutes away, with humpback whales passing from June to November.

Other things to note*
We are happy to help arrange restaurant bookings in advance, in-villa massage, sunrise yoga and a private chef (Villa Alba approved chefs only). Mid-stay cleans can be arranged at an additional cost. Drinks are not supplied, so please bring your own. We are not able to host pets. Events are not allowed unless discussed and approved - any photoshoots will also not be allowed unless discussed and pre-approved.
