Booked through Expedia. Reservation handled by VRBO (an Expedia company). Contacted by the property management company outside of the normal channels. Using 3 different platforms to manage a single reservation led to inconsistency in the listing details, significant delays in getting answers to questions about those discrepancies, which led to confusion, stress, etc. The reservation email I got from VRBO had the incorrect date listed and could not get answers or a response (never did) despite calling the resort line that they texted me with that said to call with any questions. Easily the worst experience I have had with this type of service.
They had a bunch of rules about the resort itself like wearing wrist bands, pool access and towels, fees, parking. Didn’t really matter. None of it was enforced. Our room door wouldn’t shut unless you pushed it shut.
That said, the place was clean and nice. It’s on the water. Loved the dock and all the chairs. We used the bbq for dinner one night. The room was clean (minus a dirty shower tub). Sheets and bedding were very cheap, but clean and comfortable. Kitchen was nice. Deck was wonderful. Did not use the couch bed or Murphy bed.
Staff was very nice. Grounds keepers worked hard to clean up after all of the guests.
Most of my gripe was with the disorganization and reservation, not the facility or the room.
