I booked this hotel for 1 night, and was immediately beset with family emergencies like you would not believe (week from hell, literally!). I contacted the motel to ask if I could move the date, and they allowed it to be pushed back a few days. They took more $$ since the new night was on a weekend. Totally fine. Another emergency occurred (not their problem, granted) and I asked if I could move it later in the season since obviously I couldn't get my ducks in a row. Expedia agent said they would not allow a move. OK, fine. I asked the agent to check if motel would refund the additonal $$ I paid for the more expensive night, back to original room reservation price. Again, no. But then the property messages me, "You're canceling correct?" Meaning they had someone to book the room and they weren't losing out on business. The room was then paid for twice over. I responded to this message and again asked if possible to move to another time, no response. I also sent an explanation via email on their website, no response. It's totally not their problem that the sh!t hit the fan on my side, but things could have been handled better. I did a lot of research before booking, and we would have come for more than 1 night if we had been allowed to re-book. We love morro bay. I feel ripped off. :(
