While the location and ocean views are beautiful, poor communication and inconsistent management overshadowed the entire experience. "Very nice homestay, in a gorgeous area. The accomodations were spacious and had lovely terraces; the gardens were beautiful and the food was excellent. I would recommend eating with the other guests at the homestay. The staff was lovely and helpful. But, it was fairly difficult getting to the homestay (ferry to CatBa, drive across the Island, another ferry to LanHa) so keep that in mind."

"We loved our stay in Cat Ba! Linda was an amazing host and the staff were so helpful. We had the most delicious hot pot there one evening. Linda helped us with all our planning. It had a quaint garden with puppies running around, and monkeys howling in the distance. A/C worked and our daughter swam in the pool at night. Would recommend if looking for a homestay in the area!"

"Overall experience was fine. It’s a massive hotel with 3 separate hotel buildings. Very crowded, even though this was off season. The restaurants were okay. The staff in the reception were very helpful! It’s way too expensive compared to other way better hotels in Vietnam, but there are not a lot of options on the island. "
