Apartment is of historic Cartagena style with ceilings over 30 feet high. This spacious layout features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, immaculate ceiling hung chandeliers, and a spiral staircase to the top floor.

The apartment is 135 square meters large in a 17th century house. It is only 3 to 5 minutes away from all the historic monuments, squares, theaters, restaurants and clubs in colonial town, and only 15 minutes walk from the beach. It is reached after one flight of stairs and thus has a beautiful colonial balcony. Moreover, the ceiling of the reception/dining room is ten meters tall, almost as high as a church. It is a reminder of how Cartagena looked like several hundreds years ago. In fact, the owner purchased the property to preserve the architectural patrimony of the city. Sadly, many developers divide the principal area in colonial houses (such as this property) into two apartments as the exceptionally great height allows them to do so, but at the cost of destroying the original glory of the fabulous space.

The apartment is also a veritable art gallery with paintings, tapestries and other pieces of art from Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, South Africa,Vietnam, Laos,Nepal, India, Peru, Sri Lanka, Austria,France, Croatia, Serbia, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Iran, China, Japan, Mexico and Guatemala.

As an expatriate who now also has Colombian nationality, and has written extensively on Colombia, its history, art and culture, the owner is happy to provide information to those interested to explore the city and the country at large (or beyond as he has travelled to some 125 countries worldwide including doing safaris in Asia, Africa and South America).

The apartment is situated in the main street in the colonial town. The area is completely safe, during the day (Email Hidden) it is situated between two iconic squares, the guests can observe Cartagena pass by from the colonial balcony with a folding table.

You can walk maximum ten to fifteen minutes to all main points of interests. Taxis pass during the day and at night right in front of the house.

The apartment is situated in a three story house built in the 17th century of coral stone. Because it is old, despite all modern amenities, in all rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms, objects cannot be thrown in the loo not to clog the sewage system, but in the basket which is emptied daily by the housekeeper.

The host also provides access to a top notch masseuse (40 Usd a full hour), the best hairdresser in town, boat hires for trips to nearby islands, English speaking guide in Cartagena, "chiva" (open deck bus with live music, mainly at night) and cookery and salsa classes. The owner can also help hire musicians, singers and folkloric groups performing Afro Latin dances.
