"Very reasonable price but we struggled to find horizontal surfaces on which to place phones, wallets and glasses. A couple of small shelves here and there would be greatly appreciated. Likewise, in the absence of wardrobes, options to hang clothes were limited; a few coat hooks on the walls would be a great improvement and take the pressure off the rack on the door. Really enjoyed the Starbeck location. The regular buses to both Harrogate and Knaresborough were wonderful and the train was...

"A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks."

"On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

"I have a 3-5 on service. All the staff that I interacted with were very helpful and professional. However, the housekeeping was not good. I was only there for 2 days. On the first day, my room was not cleaned, despite housekeeping being right outside the room when I left for the day. On the second day, the room was cleaned but the amenities (tea, coffee, etc.) were not replenished. Clearly no quality checks by the housekeeping management."
