Romantic village house on Lake Como (I SCALITT)

For a relaxing holiday on the shores of the wonderful Lake Como, I SCALITT is the perfect solution for families and groups of friends! This 19th century house, located in the heart of the village of Carate Urio, in the fishing village "I scalitt", is arranged on 3 levels, and is finely restored to enhance the architecture of the lake houses of the past, with care to the small details. On the ground floor, there is the living room, heated with a modern pellet stove, with the dining area, with a table for 4 people, and the children's area, with a table, board games and a blackboard with chalk. The kitchen is separate, complete and equipped with everything you need to prepare lunches and dinners like at home. Among the appliances, there is a kettle, an American coffee machine and an espresso coffee machine, baby food cooker and microwave sterilizer. On the first floor, there is the quadruple bedroom with exposed beams and a warm parquet, which can accommodate up to 4 people having a double bed and a bunk bed. Next to it, there is a large and modern bathroom with shower. On the second floor, there is a second large attic bedroom, with a double bed and a single bed. In addition, a cot for the babies is also present in the quadruple room. This room also has a private bathroom with shower. For both bedrooms, the wardrobe is designed as in a hotel, convenient for storing luggage and equipped with a kettle and fridge, to have a corner of privacy in your room even when you are in a group. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning for the summer season. 

WARNING: To get to the apartment you need to climb several flights of stairs! Furthermore, in the apartment there are internal stairs to reach the bedrooms



Quality bedding, towels and a courtesy kit are provided. 

We also leave a gift basket with some necessary items for your first breakfast.

Carate Urio is located on the western shore of the Como branch of the Lario. This characteristic village has maintained the charm of the past, with its cobbled streets, the ancient town houses, the historic villas, the stone stairs of Moltrasio with arches, such as the staircase leading to “I Scalitt”. Carate Urio is located next to the famous town of Laglio, it is only 10 minutes from Cernobbio and its renowned Riva, and a 20-minute drive from Como. In the village, a few minutes from the house, there is a post office, a bank with an ATM, a grocery store, bars and restaurants. A few steps from the house there is the boat stop that connects the town with Como and with the other picturesque villages of the lake, such as Torno, Argegno, Menaggio.



How to arrive:

By car, from the A9 motorway, take the Como Centro exit. Set the GPS: in 10 minutes you will reach the apartment. You can take the smoother New Strada Statale Regina 340 or the romantic Via Regina.

By train, from Como San Giovanni station take bus C10 / C20 for 18 stops and get off at “Carate - Piazza Minoletti” (20 minutes). In 1 minute on foot you will reach the house.
