Beach, beach, beach! Located in the heart of the quaint beach town in Cape Charles Historic Area on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, one block from the beach, “Seahorse Retreat” is a sweet second story one bedroom unit that requires steps to access, a beachy vacation rental, located in a historic brick building on Mason Avenue, the town’s historic thoroughfare, perfect for great people watching. Cape Charles was named “One of the Best Little Beach Towns” by Southern Living Magazine. “Seahorse Retreat” is only about a block from that lauded Cape Charles town beach. Many wonderful local shops, cafes, and restaurants within easy walking distance. Fall is a special time on on Virginia's Eastern Shore! Always something fun to do! This is definitely a charming haven for two or three and includes a beautifully decorated living room where seahorses abound, outfitted with very comfortable furniture and includes a dining room with seating for four. The bedroom offers a high-end king-sized mattress, soft sheets and fluffy down-type pillows. The living room offers a high-end queen-sized sleeper sofa, complete with luxurious linens. Sliding doors from both the living room and bedroom lead out to the spacious veranda. Full kitchen including dishwasher, built-in microwave and ceramic top stove. Enjoy a cup of morning joe out on the veranda with views of the Cape Charles harbor or walk a short block to the delightfully delicious Cape Charles Coffee House for breakfast or lunch. Great view of Bay

An isolated, 2nd floor apartment, nicely furnished, with a beautifully clear and unobstructed view of the harbor and bay. Located on Mason Ave between the center of town and the beach. It's very nice.

Lovely place to stay

This was a great 1 bdrm apt that was close to the shops and the beach. It's was very cute very clean and I enjoyed my stay. Be aware there are a set of steep stairs to get into the apt, so if you have knee or ankle issues it may be hard to get into .

Beautiful Location

Long weekend for a mother/daughter trip. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here as the location and accommodations are great. We love the balcony views of Mason street and people watching.

Cape Charles Virginia

Check in was very smooth. I thought the property was much nicer than the pictures suggested. Located in the heart of old Cape Charles which is a great location. Walk to beach, great places to eat and interesting stores. Keptopeake state is about 6 miles away with another geat beach, hiking trails, fishing, and birding. The host was exceptional. The TV was working when I checked in, but then there was no reception. They were on top of getting it fixed and it was quiet clear that they wanted to provide me with exceptional service. They could not have handled the situation any better. One suggestion for the eastern shore: Recycling would be great. I am taking all of plastic back home, but it would be good to drop it in a separate container from the trash. But, everything else made it a wonderful trip, no hassles.

The apartment is large and in a good location, however the picture of the view is misleading as it is across the street from a cement factory. The unit is comfortable, but everything in it is worn and outdated. In the condition it is in, they should either remodel/update or lower the price. The rental company is very responsive and was a pleasure to work with.

Second time staying here

We had a great time once again at this property! The location is unbeatable and the size of the place is perfect for two people and a toddler. Our toddler loved the balcony and we had some fun family moments out there. So close to the beach!

Great place!

Wonderful place for a couples getaway. Bed was so comfortable, which is a huge plus. Although not a great view of the beach, it’s a short walk . Husband enjoyed being so close to the fishing pier. Water at beach area was amazing! Cape Charles is an awesome place to visit and we’ll be back!

Great place and excellent location

My wife and I stayed here for a few days over Labor Day weekend. The place is nicely decorated, has everything you need, and is right in Mason Avenue. It’s a short walk to the beach and has a water view. We will definitely stay there again!

It was a small apartment, which was great for two people. The bed was massive and amazing! It was in the best location with walking distance to everything! We loved coffee on the balcony each morning. The WiFi was a bit spotty, but we were not there enough that it was a huge problem. I would recommend!

Relaxing Stay

Very clean property. The property manager was great, easy to reach and communicated with us well. The only downside was the slowness of the internet but that just meant less use of technology and more family time.

Cozy getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this charming property. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach and all the shops. The apartment was decorated well and outfitted nicely (woohoo dishwasher! Also, the air conditioning was awesome.). The internet was a little better after rebooting the router. We had a few minor issues during our stay but the property manager responded very quickly each time. The patio was a lovely spot to hang out. The harbor was busy at night with tractor trailers coming and going, but from within the apartment, the noise was negligible. All in all a great stay and we look forward to visiting again. Thank you!

Stay in Cape Charles

The property is exactly as advertised. It is close to the beach and near the stores and restaurants in Cape Charles. Check-in was easy. The apartment was well-provisioned, not only with cookware, dishes, etc., but also with little things that make a stay easier (for example, garbage bags, dishwashing tablets, dishwashing liquid, hand sanitizer, coffee filters, toilet paper, paper towels). The bed was comfortable. We knew it was up a flight of stairs, but that really wasn't a consideration for us, though it may be for some people.

This place is very close to beach.

The property was in a great location. What I suggest most is a new mattress for master bedroom. The mattress has an obvious dip in it. My husband was right up against me every night to avoid the dip. His back bothered him every morning. Also 2 rolls of tp is not enough for 3 people. 3 would be perfect. We were a little shocked our first day on the beach we received a text from manager. We had to move our car so they could have a tree cut down that was very dead. The second day we had to be awake and ready for furniture delivery. The AC went out the 3rd day. We reported it. The 4th day we noticed a new Thermostat. The 5th and 5th days were fine.

Little Piece of Heaven

This is our fourth return trip to Sea Horse Retreat and it never disappoints. Location is one of the best in Cape Charles in the heart of the town steps away from restaurants, beach and our favorite wine shop Gull Hummock. Condo is well stocked with everything we needed in Kitchen, and linens for bedroom and bathroom. The balcony is our favorite and we enjoyed every night sitting and looking at the Bay! We can’t wait for our next return trip.

Cozy & lovely apartment

Centrally located near beach & shops. Everything is within walking distance. I was able to charge gulf cart in back of building. The apartment was neat & clean & comfy. The only items I couldn’t get were beach chairs & umbrella. Not one store offers rentals. Had a great time!
