Upon our arrival at Lodge 7, the exterior gave a promising first impression. However, our stay was overshadowed by a series of disappointments. An unsettling whining noise from the master bedroom en suite was not only disturbing but also audible from outside. The mismatched TV remote in the lounge was a minor inconvenience, but it highlighted a lack of attention to detail. Several light bulbs were out, and the overall condition of the lodge was tatty and worn. The bathroom door failed to close properly, the sofa bed was visibly dirty, the skirting boards were rotting, and the rubber seal was hanging off the main bathroom shower.
While we chose not to complain due to our early departure for the Eurotunnel at 5am, it's worth noting our dissatisfaction with the shabby state of the accommodation. We had hoped for a more comfortable and hassle-free stay.
