"Very welcoming reception from the host. We stayed for two nights and had a fantastic cooked breakfast each morning. My wife is coeliac and was well catered for. This B&B is ideally suited for the city centre, has close transport links and also provides on-street parking.
I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. "

"Lovely B&B. The building is grand and the rooms are big and airy. Free WiFi, iron and board, huge bathroom, dressing table with cotton wool balls etc Breakfast was lovely, full English, cereal, fruit and yoghurt nothing was too much trouble. If we are ever back in Carlisle we will stay here again 😊"

"Would highly recommend the Cartref guest house. The room was cosy, clean and modern. It’s like home from home the host (Melanie) was very personable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and will cater to your needs. Overall and lovely and relaxing experience "

"A beautiful, rural retreat. Wonderful facilities, extremely clean and homely. Comfortable bed with lots of in room extras, like home made shortbread, fresh milk with a mini fridge to store it in, lovely toiletries and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce, hence the brilliant taste.
Excellent hosts who were so helpful, kind and genuinely interested and keen to assist and make our stay as nice as possible.

"The hotel was overbooked, so I was outbooked to another hotel with quite lower standards a 12 min. drive away. I also got split up from my travelling companions. I heard that the same had happened for other guests as well. I asked for some kind of compensation, without success."
