This used to be the prime place to stay in the Campbell River area. The location is still unbeatable, but the property itself is in need of a lot of TLC. Pool was great, but everything else was disappointing. No AC was tough to deal with at night, as fans just cannot cool down the room. Common areas are dirty, and many areas badly needing a coat of paint. We were there July 5-7, but shocked to see both the pub and restaurant were closed. Staff were nice, but the whole place felt under staffed and under cared for. Price is way too steep for what we got for our two night stay - time has taken its toll on the once great Painters Lodge.
