Cambridge's historic centre, Colleges and The Backs are an easy 20-minute walk, 5–10 minute cycle, or short drive away — the perfect balance of a calm residential base with everything the city is famous for on your doorstep.

You're also within a short walk of Romsey Recreation Ground and Coldham's Common for green space and dog walks, and Cambridge Train Station for fast trains down to London King's Cross.

Arrival by car:

Arrival by train:
From Cambridge Train Station, it's a 10–15 minute walk, a 5-minute cycle, or a quick taxi ride to the property. Fast trains run directly to London King's Cross (approx. 50 minutes) and London Liverpool Street (approx. 75 minutes).

Arrival by air:
Stansted Airport is approximately a 45-minute drive, and Luton Airport is approximately a 60-minute drive. Both are well connected by rail and coach if you prefer not to drive.

The best way to get around Cambridge is by bike or on foot, but here are the easy options for when needed.

Cycling:
Cambridge is one of the UK's most cycle-friendly cities, and cycling from Romsey Town into the historic centre takes just 5–10 minutes along dedicated cycle paths. Bike hire is available throughout the city — Rutland Cycling and Station Cycles are both reliable local options.

Walking:
Roughly 20–25 minutes into the historic centre — a pleasant walk through residential streets and along the river.

Driving into the centre: Central Cambridge parking is famously limited and expensive. If you do drive in, Grand Arcade, Grafton Centre, and Park Street car parks are the main central options. Park & Ride services from Madingley Road and Trumpington are a cheaper alternative that drop you right into the centre.

Taxi:
Local taxi companies are reliable and quick for airport transfers, nights out, or when the weather turns.

Bus:

Punting on the River Cam:
Cambridge's most famous activity. Chauffeured and self-hire punts run along The Backs past King's, Trinity and St John's Colleges. Scudamore's and Let's Go Punting are both well-reviewed operators — book ahead in peak season.

A note on the property:
This is a two-storey house with stairs to the upper floor, set over ground and first floor levels with a downstairs WC and an upstairs family bathroom. Guests will need to be comfortable with stairs.

• Amenities: The property is professionally cleaned and inspected before your arrival. Fresh linen, towels, and essentials are provided for your stay.

• Safety: The property is equipped with a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.

• Security: For your safety and security, the property is equipped with external security cameras and internal noise monitoring devices. This device only monitors decibel levels and does not record audio.
