Scam
This hotel could be good but it's really a scam. You are met with a bunch of large signs in the lobby indicating that you can upgrade to all sorts of things. Who doesn't want luxury? So we upgraded to a superior room with the promise of getting free water, cava and entrance to the spa with treatments. Extra cost 29 euros/ day. We stayed 3 days so that was 87 euros. What did we get? Two bottles of small water during the entire stay, a very small bottle of cava of the absolute cheapest and most disgusting sort (I am a trained sommelier, but not a snob) and a visit to the spa without treatments. In the spa we also had to buy flipflops at 3 euros per person to be able to get in. The manager has apparently attended a half course in marketing where he or she learned that extra sales might give extra profit. He missed the last part where he could have learned that pleasing the client is the best way of getting more of them. If you are to sell a feeling of luxury maybe it's a good idea to at least include a bottle of water per day and a tasty cava. The superior room was completely barren, not very clean and quite noisy. During our now over 5 weeks long trip around Spain and Portugal, where we only have stayed in four or five star hotels, this was least worth the money. I am sure there are plenty of good other hotels in Cadiz where the manager has the full course in marketing. Try one of them.
